I enjoy her songs, Dignity was a pretty good disc; but three proper albums and two GH/compilations to date?? That is not an artist, that is a product.

Even the video seems much more label/producer driven than 'artist' inspired.

I am happy Mandy Moore is breaking out of that...Wild Hope is a great album. It would be interesting to see if Hilary has something like that in her.

Hollywood and Hil didn't renew their recording contract. Hilary is unhappy with her label

Exactly. "Reach out" and the track "Holiday" that is in this best of, were supposed to be part of a new album that Hilary wanted to put out right after "Dignity" the same year, and Hollywood refused a new album in the same year. The label wanted to just re-release the album with 2 new tracks, Hilary refused to give the tracks for that reason, because she feels re-issues arent a good thing. From their is where the bad blood formed, and with her deal coming up she walked, turned down their offers of renewal.

As for the song, i like it, mainly because its still in the vibe of "dignity" which wasnt just a good album, it was one of the best pop/dance albums in a long time and ONE that all the female pop divas needed to listen too. Plus at least Hilary knows that its "Depeche Mode", she picked it for that reason, Rihanna on the other hand "never heard of Tainted Love or soft cell, by her own admission", sorry but if youre gonna sample, first rule, know what you are sampling.

Totally agree on that, i also gained a trememndous amount of respect for her on this record, for actually putting the album together herself, she chose who to work with, wrote all the songs but one, and did the vocal arranging. Besides the respect i gained for her and managing her business affairs. Plus she looks great in the video...and im sure people will have issues with her being...sexy. But if its usher or justin doing it, than its ok for them.

i hope she keeps it up. i'm waiting to see what she does next. only the Minogue sisters have my interest piqued like her at the moment

It'll be interesting to see what she does next, i think she has found her "niche" with the dance/pop sound, there really arent too many american female artists that are doing the dance/pop/euro sound in america, most of them are doing it more geared towards a pop/rb sound.
