Bonus Hidden Gem: The Beatles-I Am The Walrus This is a bonus gem. Sadly, this song was never officially released as a single in the US. Off the Magical Mystery Tour album, this song is confusing and poetic at the same time. I always said that John had one of the prettiest voices in rock music. A true visionary and this babble of a song proves it. The George Martin arrangement of strings adds to the fabulous melody to this track. A true classic. Period! Too bad Jim Carrey had to mess it up by recording it as a joke. Anyway, enjoy and comment on this bonus gem.

great song. i would hardly call it a "hidden" gem though. i think that
80% of the people who know the beatles even roughly know this song. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

It's funny that you mention this song. I was just playing the "Magical Mystery Tour" CD, last night. "I Am The Walrus", is a really strange track but it is one of their best. My favorite track is "Flyin". Now, I know that it is not much of a track, but as a part time beat maker, it has this "hip hop feel to it. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

PS.
Past Masters, Volumes One and Two is a compilation album by the The Beatles released in 1988 as a double LP. The two volumes were previously released a few months earlier on separate compact discs. It contains 33 recordings originally released between 1962 and 1970: 27 tracks from Beatles singles (including B-sides), All 4 tracks from their Long Tall Sally EP, A U.S. album track, "Bad Boy", and A contribution to a various artists charity album. All of the above tracks were not issued on any original Beatle album issued in the UK, although alternate versions of five of the songs were issued on original UK Beatle albums. The front of the double LP sleeve is similar to the front cover of the Past Masters, Volume One CD cover which is black with white lettering. The back of the double LP sleeve is similar to the front cover of the Past Masters, Volume Two CD cover which is white with black lettering. This was the final Beatles album released as a gramophone record before the recording industry stopped manufacturing them in large quantities in favour of the compact disc format of prerecorded music. Subsequent new Beatle albums were released in the vinyl record format in small quantities as limited editions. This compilation, combined with the 12 original Beatle albums (which are also included in The Beatles Collection box set) along with the Magical Mystery Tour LP, allowed the record collector to possess every Beatle recording released commercially by EMI from 1962 to 1970. "Love Me Do" (from 1962-10-05 A-side, the original single version recorded on 1962-09-04 featuring Ringo Starr on drums, mono) "From Me to You" (from 1963-04-11 A-side, mono) "Thank You Girl" (from 1963-04-11 B-side, mono) "She Loves You" (from 1963-08-23 A-side, mono) "I'll Get You" (from 1963-08-23 B-side, mono) "I Want to Hold Your Hand" (from 1963-11-29 A-side) "This Boy" (from 1963-11-29 B-side) "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand" (Lennon, McCartney, Nicholas, Heller) (from 1964-03-05 German single, mono) "Sie Liebt Dich" (Lennon, McCartney, Nicholas, Montague) (from 1964-03-05 German single, mono) "Long Tall Sally" (Johnson, Penniman, Blackwell) (from 1964-06-19 Long Tall Sally EP) "I Call Your Name" (from 1964-06-19 Long Tall Sally EP) "Slow Down" (Williams) (from 1964-06-19 Long Tall Sally EP) "Matchbox" (Perkins) (from 1964-06-19 Long Tall Sally EP) "I Feel Fine" (from 1964-11-27 A-side) "She's a Woman" (from 1964-11-27 B-side) "Bad Boy" (Williams) (recorded on the composer's birthday 10 May 1965, from 1965-06-14 U.S. album Beatles VI, 1966-12-10 UK album A Collection of Beatles Oldies) "Yes It Is" (from 1965-04-09 B-side) "I'm Down" (from 1965-07-23 B-side) "Day Tripper" (1965-12-03 double A-side with "We Can Work It Out") "We Can Work It Out" (1965-12-03 double A-side with "Day Tripper") "Paperback Writer" (1966-06-10 A-side) "Rain" (1966-06-10 B-side) "Lady Madonna" (1968-03-15 A-side) "The Inner Light" (Harrison) (1968-03-15 B-side) "Hey Jude" (1968-08-30 A-side) "Revolution" (1968-08-30 single version - B-side) "Get Back" (1969-04-11 single version - A-side) "Don't Let Me Down" (1969-04-11 B-side) "The Ballad of John and Yoko" (1969-05-30 A-side) "Old Brown Shoe" (Harrison) (1969-05-30 B-side) "Across the Universe" (1969-12-12 "Wildlife" version from a British various artists charity album titled No One's Gonna Change Our World for the World Wildlife Fund) "Let It Be" (1970-03-06 single version - A-side) "You Know My Name (Look Up the Number)" (1970-03-06 - B-side) mono

Same here!! Flyin' DOES have some funkiness going on with it. It sounds like it would make a great sample if it would ever get approved! It's definitely a head-bobber!
