When this song came out, I felt like I was the only one in the world who loved it. I remember playing it in a car cassette deck on repeat one night when the track was current. It got minimal play on BET (mid-day rotaion on Video Vibrations @ a time when everyone was @ work).

Locally in Los Angeles, I remember it didn't get much play. Especially since "I Wish" was an MTV rap and '90s staple. I probably heard it on the radio once or so and then it was gone. Think I even requested it back then. He was never really heard from again after this. The closing moments of the song are kind of foreshadowing in retrospect.

I never got rid of his CD.
