HEY LOOK WHAT I GOT!!! (Beatles related) remember a while back
maybe a year or so ago I did a thread about this movie: mostly the fact that I didn't know there was a movie based on the album (& some other Beatles albums) well, I got an FYE giftcard for my bday last week & I finally got me one!!! I had been looking for it, but I never did see it on shelves I still haven't watched the full thing yet I keep going to sleep on it... and not in THAT way, but only chance I get to really watch television is when I'm in the bed for the night, and of course we all know how that can be pertaining to watching a movie in entirety... I almosy ALWAYS go to sleep on it. am I to assume the girl group who did "I Want You" & "LSD" are Stargard? I always thought that was a duo girl group.. anyway... I saw the EW+F scene last night I don't even remember where I left off how many of you own this and enjoy? (for what it is) I think that one BeeGee with the dark hair and the light voice is sooooo hot!!! OMG (he's first one from the right pictured on the DVD cover) oh, and the funeral scene totally made me sniffle (I was not prepared for that) the movie/musical is good so far though I'll post the other stuff I bought later [Edited 10/26/08 10:44am] because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Aerosmith was great too
on "Come Together" I just love Steve Tyler the MAIN reason I wanted to see this film is to play "where's waldo" with the celebrity cameos I had looked this movie up on IMBD once and saw all the groups from back then that were involved... and I just had to see it for myself because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

somewheres... what group? Before he went solo in 1971, he was in Humble Pie with Steve Marriott, Greg Ridley, and Jerry Shirley. He also did a lot of session work at that time - with George Harrison, John Entwistle, Harry Nilsson, Jerry Lee Lewis, and others. Ringo Starr and Billy Preston were on his first solo album, as well.

Thanks to this thread,I pulled out the DVD and watched it again I hadn't seen this movie in awhile. It's really just a bunch of glitzy music videos tied together by a weak storyline (hey,I think I just described "Graffiti Bridge" lol).It has a certain charm to it.The only real problem is that it goes on too long. You're like "When is this movie gonna end??" .The musical performances save it from being a total disaster.Billy Preston singing "Get Back" is one of the highlights.

I am so sorry you wasted your money on that. As a huge Beatles fan. I found this movie insulting and just plain pathetic.

I didn't really like the film. But I love the scene where Billy Preston came out and sung "Get Back".
Oh and the dude you're talking about on the left is Robin, aka (other than Andy) the pretty boy Gibb brother.

Yeah,I tried to find some redeeming qualities about it but let's face it....this movie is the Graffiti Bridge of the 70s.

This movie was released in August 1978....only two months after 'Grease' came out.I think 'The Wiz' was also in theatres around this time.We were being bombarded with musicals
btw...I wonder how the original Beatles felt about this movie? Did any of them ever comment on it?

Yeah, that's one of the few great scenes in the movie I'm glad that Billy Preston saved the day and gave the movie a happy ending. For awhile there,it was all doom and gloom (after the funeral scene).

Yeah that's him. That scene at the end featured virtually every 70s artist who was hot at the time...Curtis Mayfield,LaBelle,Minnie Riperton,George Benson,Robert Palmer,Seals and Crofts,Frankie Valli, etc.
