I think the worst offenders were Ready for the World. In no way were those boys pretty enough to pull off that 3rd cousin of Prince, first cousin of Jesse Johnson look they were going for.
At least Chico was pretty. Surprised El didn't go all the way there with his look back in the day.

What a lot of people don't seem to remember is that after Prince became a phenom with Purple Rain, everyone was dressing like him-men, that is. The ruffles, the eyeliner, the poufy hair. That WAS the look. And very few pulled it off well. Chico didn't too bad. And the way he was dressing was very typical for that time. If you were a male, rnb singer, you had to look like P back then.

El DeBarge will spend the next two years feeling the rhythm of the night behind bars in connection with a recent drug bust in L.A.

The pop star was just sentenced to two years in state prison -- starting right this second. Authorities are currently taking him to California State Prison in Lancaster where he will immediately begin his sentence.

The judge decided his conduct during the drug bust earlier this month -- in which DeBarge was allegedly found with crack cocaine on his person -- was enough to violate the probation he was on from a drug case in 2007.

However there is one thing I would like to make clear: Darling, I never said anything about comparing these men musically, so no need to go off on a tangeant while I am specifically addressing the topic of clothes. My point is that I just happen to be of the mindset that NO ONE should get a pass for the ridiculous fashions most of us were wearing back then, some styles of which Prince had the gaul to still be wearing past their "sell by" date into the 90s. Assless pants are a ridiculous get-up for ANYONE, period. Whether the people wearing them are of moderate talent or the greatest thing since Beethoven or Coltrane is moot for me. Bad fashion is bad fashion...and I refuse to judge one person more harshly than another for it, since at one time or another most music stars have been guilty of that crime

People don't realize that Stars are real people and have real issues just like everybody else in their lives. It makes it hard for them to be real with themselves when they have to pretend that everything is okay with them with people in the world. I am the oldest in my family and I can say that DeBarge is a family with issues that being a star has caused them to hide. It's hard to say sometimes that you are not okay! We are real people that are hurting just like everybody else. We need healing! That's all I can say really . We need Healing and much prayer! Things are seldom what they look like. There is more happening that we don't see then what we see. Our enemy is Satan and he is on his job. However, I am glad that we serve a God that has the last say so. Happiness and Success is in Christ Jesus and I must say it has taken DeBarge some time to realize that. God will do what ever it takes sometime to get those that He so loves attention. It's all good though. He knows just what we need. Prayers that have been dilengently going up for DeBarge are being answered. I don't care what it looks like . God will get the glory out of this families lives. I would like to take this time and Thank those who are praying for us and ask you to continue to praise God for all that He has done and is going to do.
