That shows the talent of Ray Charles. The guy took a little ditty and made it revolutionary. 
The radio version of this, while still sexual in nature, did appeal to everybody when it finally did get released. I credit this song with starting "soul music". [Edited 10/25/08 15:22pm] | |

If "Making love" could be written in music sheets, then Ray & the Raylettes sure mastered that AIN'T IT!?! It was truly seductive especially considering his past releases. The funnies thing about Ray is that he could've retired or not had another big hit after "What I Say" and still he would've left an indelible mark on music. | |

I love this song man. I got the same kinda wurlitzer sound in the yamaha motif xs 7 so I always imitate the intro. | |

For some reason, this song reminds me of the Doors' "Break on through the otherside".
