Randy Jackson's (of Jackson family fame) solo project from '78/79.

Little Randy Jackson was the last brother to come into show business making his debut in 1972 and by 1975 was an official member of the group with big bro Jermaine staying with his (other fam) at Motown. In the fall of '78 he released a single (before Destiny and Off The Wall.) His first single was titles "How Can I Be Sure" and missed the pop charts completely while charting at 91 on the black charts. The B-Side "Love Song For Kids" was a duet with baby sister Janet (they had been doing duets in the Vegas scene and on various TV shows.)Anyone know why Randy was too release a solo joint before Mike? Now was this project crapped because Epic didn't have any hope for it or was it because hit little know car accident in 1980 that almost took his walking ability and his life?

I want to hear the other songs that were planned for the album. We don't know the tracklisting or even the title
"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

SoulAlive

I kinda feel bad for the Jackson brothers.Only Michael and Jermaine achieved any success as solo artists. The others tried but failed. In the late 80s,Randy even tried again, with an album credited to "Randy and The Gypsys".I didn't even know about this flop 1979 album, lol.

I've always given Randy his props as a songwriter and musician. He should have had a very successful and lucrative career in the business doing that, not as a solo artist.
But these songs suck. falloff
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Quite hating, this obviously wasn't Randy's ideal (I doubt it was.) Randy was what 16/17 at this time. Either the label had high hopes for him or Joe pushed him to do it.
