A big head with a small body isn't attractive to me, neither is the small turkey neck look. And some people become unevenly proportioned after the surgery, like a lady at my chuch had it done, and she lost probably 200 pounds, but her legs are still fat yet her upper body is that of a skinny person. Its weird looking. But I just hope Aretha gets the help she needs. I mean I know thats the goal everybody hopes for her. I agree, Star Jones looks bad and she's constantly dissed for the way she looks now. Since they lose weight as such a fast rate, most of the people that have that surgery have a gaunt look. Oh yeah,I agree with you.Sometimes the surgery can make the person look kinda weird (for lack of a better word, lol). The rapid weight loss can make them look gaunt. But in Aretha's case, this shouldn't be about appearance. She doesn't need the surgery for cosmetic reasons, she needs it to SAVE HER LIFE.If it makes her look a little odd, then so be it.At least she would be much more healthier. The surgery won't allow you to over-eat even if you tried. You would have to give up certain fatty foods (rice and pasta, for example) but that's exactly what Aretha needs to do anyway.

Pattis original version has 4 cheeses AND 2 cups of half and half I saw her make it on some show years ago and I literally got a little nauseated over all that cheese and cream. I know it must taste like heaven but if that's not some sort of attack waiting to happen, I don't know what is. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I saw the woman frying chicken a few years back on "Good Morning America." I can't imagine her wanting to all of a sudden bake her chicken. lol It is amazing how some of the older folks will not stop with that old school cooking even it is clearly not the best thing for their overall health, at least until they actually get sick, that is. Patti LaBelle is notorious for being a fantastic cook, but if you see the recipes from her first cookbook, good lawd! Everything full fat, fried, covered in sugar...dont get me wrong, that s... TASTES GOOD. Her potato salad and macaroni and cheese will make you slap somebody! .But in the last years she developed Type 2 Diabetes and she literally had to go and teach herself how to change the way she cooks and eats so she could LIVE. So she went back and revamped all her soul food recipes into dishes that are simply better for the body...no more potato salad drowning in 2 jars of mayonaise .I had her newer cookbook of lighter recipes but like a dummy I gave it away Yeah,Patti was smart. She knew that she couldn't keep on eating all that fatty,greasy,artery-clogging food. She had serious problems with diabetes, which I believe Aretha must surely have.Patti turned things around.I wish Aretha could do the same
