Justin Retires Hit Song

Justin Timberlake performed in Las Vegas this weekend for an event entitled “Justin Timberlake & Friends”, which benefited Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Justin told the crowd during his performance of “Sexy Back” that it will never be performed live again as he was retiring it. Man, even Justin knew that song was played out, like 2 years ago. IMHO, that was the whackest track on his last CD anyway, so good riddance. The rest of the CD still gets play in my ipod.

Didn’t someone go after him saying “How can you bring sexy back, if sexy never left?” All right then.-Dr.FB

isn't his career too short to be retiring songs? it's not like he's been around 20 years or so.

Actually, he has. Not that he will be playing lots of stuff he did at The Mickey Mouse Club, but this guy has been profesional longer than anyone can diss him...

Another reason I can't stand this little twit..oh well. The song sucked anyways.
His music is good...but HIM as his whole little "Public persona" and how he tries to act like Will Smith - it is sooooo old. You aren't Prince Justin. You aren't MJ Justin. Shit you aren't even George Michael Justin - so please find your own musical identity (including the decision to "retire" a song *cough* PRINCE *cough) and until then, go jump on that FAR AWAY island with:

Beyonce
Usher
Lil Wayne
Soldja Boy
Neyo

Pop/R&B is in a sad state of affairs today. At least in the 80s when it was about sex and partying - it was fun. A lot of today's music is just disgusting.

Sorry for the rant.

How does one retire a song after a couple of years? I've never heard of that. 20-30 years maybe, but 2???

I'm very far from Pro-Prince right now but damn it, this must be said...

Justin!! When you have reached the kind of plateau that Prince (unfortunately, for his fans like me) has distant memories of...it is then and ONLY THEN...that you can talk about retiring some shit! Get over your damn self!!! mad

Yeah, you're a part of a bunch of highly original Orgers. rolleyes

Well, that's okay, I suppose. I know the guy is a twat, but his singles are almost always ace.

hmph!

well each to their own i guess

imo the guy can't sing ; his falsetto is weak and his voice lacks any power
furthermore he doesn't he even write his own songs ;
and all those timbaland songs he does sound similar to me and they are devoid of any emotion

Then go post on Madonna threads and Janet threads and Michael Jackson threads etc.
He does write them together with Timbaland, btw. And with NERD. So. He's smart in picking good producers. And he ain't the best singer. But so ain't Madonna. And they both have had good sales. So it is marketing.

It indeed comes down to 'to each their own". It always is. I just dislike the bland dislike for his persona and past. So yeah, he screwed Britney. So what?

Like I said; his singles ARE ace. He wouldn't get so many moan threads on here otherwise.

purplesweat

We've heard it as much as we have, but can you imagine performing it constantly?

We have the choice to turn off the radio, TV, whatever. He can't turn it off the minute he hears it again...he's gotta do it the whole way through.

And it's an annoying, repetitive song, so no wonder even HE can't stand it anymore lol

I'm sure he won't retire it, he might not perform it for a few years but it's his biggest hit - how many times has Prince retired Purple Rain?

Ace? Pop fluff is what they are. And sexyback sounds horrible live.
