it is so janet!

I really love this one! If it wasn't a single. it sure should have been. Might not have been a huge hit, but a great song to hear on the radio.

I love The Way I Feel About You as well, but that and Romantic do not present the whole album IMO

I found it at Virgin Megastore a few weeks ago after searching for it for ages, definitely worth it!

and yeah the bassline is great

I like this song. It reminds me of "Lonely" from Janet.

I think Ritual of Love was horribly promoted. I think WB was concentrating on Diamonds and Pearls and left Karyn out to dry. "The Way I Feel About U" and "Romantic" did well, but the album kind-of died off after that. I was hoping that "Hooked On U" would have been a single, but it didn't make the cut. Dallas radio played it from time to time, along with "Walking the Dog" (which, I think, was the last single from the album), "How I want U" and "Do Un2 me". The last 2 were only played during the "quiet storm" and not in regular rotation.

I wouldn't say "slump" to describe it. It did well. According to RIAA, it went gold. She really fell off with "Make Him Do Right", her 3rd album.

yeah that was it

I didn't like hunga though

I know just what it's like to see good artists from the last decade fade away though. Toni Braxton, Brandy, Monica, TLC were not doing well in sales in 2002/03, and people like Ashanti and Beyonce were taking over. Did any of you feel the same way when the 80's divas were going through that in the early 90's?

Yeah I did. I kind-of felt sorry for people like Karyn because she came in at the end of the 80s and exploded onto the scene. By the time her 2nd disc was released, she had taken too long to come out with new material. Not only that, she was f-ing Terry and married him. After that, it was pretty much over for her (career wise).

I feel even more sorry for Jody Watley though I know she's independent now. Affairs of the Heart should have done much better.

It's so funny how all those divas fell off in the early 90's, but the janet. album became her biggest album when they were all doing similar type of stuff.

That is interesting.

I think what happened to Jody is that she was trying to be "mature" with her music and it ended up hurting her. She totally abandoned the dance music that made her popular.

I think her mature music should have been a hit. Janet's was, no problem.

I think so too. I loved Affairs of the Heart and Intimacy.
