Queen live.

Now how's this for fan service? After seeing Queen last week I look through the program and at the back it tells me that, after each show, selected songs will be available for download. And they are. As are downloads of loads of bootlegs, videos, merchandise, guitar tab and so on.

How good is that? I mean come on, Prince doesn't even have a web site! wink

Sometimes he makes it very hard to appreciate him...

let me make you something clear: you didn't see Queen live last week.....what you saw were two elderly men, one on drums and one on guitar, who were part of the band Queen in the last century, who ran out of money and sold out the band's name by touring again, performing that band's songs together with a shitty singer and some bass-player.....

Hope that helps..... neutral

Lame, first of all Queen is the wealthiest band on earth, that money is never running out. I love how when bands record people always say shit like "theyre broke" its just moronic. If you dont dig that Queen + Paul Rodgers (thats the group name by the way) then cool, but life doesnt stop when someone dies, and this band was just as MUCH Brian's and Rogers as it was Freddie's and John's who by the way GAVE HIS BLESSING to this project.

Yeah, they are so far from broke. I think they just want to play. And yes Prince could do lots more but have you bought 21 Nights, he just released it? He's done alot over the span of his career more than most.

Exactly! And they were the founding members of the band!

It was always a dream of mine to see Queen but with the death of Freddie that never happened. Brian May was the reason I wanted to play guitar. He's my favourite player. The songs of Queen are classics, as are those by Free. Many people consider Paul to have one of the best voices to have come out of the rock scene. I for one agree.

Last year I saw an elderly man. A few times actually. God he must have been, what fifty!? Sometimes it's better to say nothing and be thought a fool abierman, than to open one's mouth and prove it.

And yes notsusan I haver bought 21 Nights. I'm a Prince fan and that's what we do isn't it?

Regardless, the show was fantastic, which you'd expect from such talented and seasoned musicians. The crowd were true supporters and all there for a great time. We Will Rock You started and the whole of the NIA (it was packed to the very back) stood there with their hand in the air doing the obligatory hand clap. It was fantastic. I was grinning and singing like a goon, my wife was, my daughter was grinning like a cheshire cat and all about us everyone else was doing likewise. You can't ask for more at a concert to be honest.

And they made my night by playing '39 from Night of the Opera. Brian came to the centre of the crowd and sat there with an acoustic while Roger sat beside him with a single bass drum. By the end of the song the whole band had joined them and the whole crowd were once again singing their hearts out. Excellent night and I'm a little bit richer on the inside because of it smile smile

Whatever, my opinion is that some frontmen are not to be replaced, especially not after they've died.....

I.e. imagine someone else instead of Mick Jagger as frontman of the Rolling Stones? disbelief

Anyway, I never liked Queen (or the Rolling Stones, for that matter), never liked the direction they've tried to take rock-music. For the same reason I have never liked Genesis. However, I do recognize the artistic value of the original Queen and the impact they've had on the scene with their body of work.

Well then it's a good job you didn't have to go to the concert. You'd have hated it. And been out of place too.

No one wants to replace Freddie Mercury, as he's not replaceable... he is still very much a part of the show! Queen + PR is more about carrying on, moving on, than to replace Freddie.... Freddie died... Roger and Brian still live! I also saw them in September and they were awesome!

Still think you're a tosser. bitchfight

And hee, you called me numbnuts. Always makes me smile that one.

And having never met me you may actually care about me. Who knows. We may be soul mates. That's the joy of the internet: hiding behind a screen and throwing insults without fear of a bitch slap.

If we ever meet up the drink is on me. And we'll argue some more wink

Exaactly!! They want to carry on and play and why should anyone try to deny it, and WHY should they drop the name and the songs that they created just as much as Freddie did. Freddie cannot be replaced, but if anyone thinks Roger and Brian are trying to do that, then please pass what you are smoking to me. I took Brian and Roger to even be able to deal with the death of freddie and have the strength to continue. This also goes for INXS which experienced the same thing, and yes INXS had every right to go on, they are a band not a solo artist.
