New 'Old School Funk'

As for the last few years that '60 motown-, funk-, soul sound has gained some momentum. Since I love me some old school funk and the fact that it's getting attention from the general public, I'd like to make a list of new artists that are doing the old school sound.

Let me start:
Sharon Jones and the Dapkings
Nicole Willis
Raphael Saadiq - The way I see it
Amy Winehouse
Lefties Soul Connection
Osaka Monaurail

...

Amy Winehouse

Are you by any chance posting while under the influence of crack cocaine?
Cause you know, that part of your post doesn't make any sense smile
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

lol

Amy always got that comparison to the 60s motown sound (with back to black, that is). Touring with the dapkings only build on that.

So, I would have to say no. I've only had acid today... wink

Do these groups use real drums and bass and do they make uptempo jams. If not, NEXT!

Real deal! Uptempo as well. I think you'd like the lefties soul connection a lot! Mostly instrumentals though.

Wait a minute! Aren't you more into Electro-funk?

That's pretty much all they do. They even release their music on vinyl 45s (the medium that has presented the funkiest jams in music history). smile
