Yeah, you're a part of a bunch of highly original Orgers. rolleyes

Well, that's okay, I suppose. I know the guy is a twat, but his singles are almost always ace.

you just lost all music cred with me herman. lol

Ace? Pop fluff is what they are. And sexyback sounds horrible live.

Oh well, I'l live. I really enjoy all the singles, even though Sexyback isn't my favourite of those. Rock Your Body is classic, whatever all the prejudiced people say. As are Senorita, Love Stoned and Futuresex Lovesounds. That last one was one of the hottest tour openers I have seen since Prince's Sig O The Times tour. (of course, every other comparison with that tour stops right there) And Prince hasn't come upwith a hot beat like that since a looooong time. Black Sweat is stoopid compared to the hotness of Futuresex Lovesounds.

And... how do you know what Sexyback sounds like live?

I agree with you. I like quite a few of his songs. Sexyback is not one of them though.

He´s just a pop artist who performs quite decent pop songs. no need for such hatred, imo.

I like to go against the grain on these threads cuz most people have something against his persona and their prejudice taints the music for them. It's funny how only one person on here actually talks about not liking his voice.

I love how they come up with things like "he doesn't even write his own songs" and "talentless" (heh @ U, DeWrede) while he's GOT talent. He's got the talent to sell millions of records, he's got talent to pick the right producers/songwriters, he's got the talent to co-write on the songs, he's got talent to make lots of money.

I even kinda like the guy for that. Even though it seems he's got the class and personality of a mosquito.

clapping

This reminds me of a thread where everyone was harping on about how he doesn't play instruments...a few of us noted he plays piano and guitar, the naysayers then spun it that he only follows the performers around him. Anything to not admit he MIGHT be good at what he does.

It's a case that will never be settled, as people's prejudice is just to great to overcome.

I wonder what they think of that no instrument playing, non-songwriting talentless Michael Jackson's music.

Justin Timberlake is not comparable to Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson is one of the greatest vocalists ever in popular music and probably the greatest dancer.
He was writing great songs on his own aged 20. By 25 he had 2 critically acclaimed and hugely successful solo albums as well as 2 excellent albums with his brothers .
He's not merely a pop star because his written and performed iconic songs of many different genres.
Defend Justin Timberlake all you want but it's silly to state he's as talented as Michael Jackson or achieved his level of success.

Actually, he has. Not that he will be playing lots of stuff he did at The Mickey Mouse Club, but this guy has been profesional longer than anyone can diss him...

Thank You! Justin, Christina, JC Chasez, and yes even Britney have all been in the entertainment business for more than just a few years. Why do people keep making it sound like Justin is new to the music industry? Dude, was in NSync when he was like 13 or 14 and he's 27 now, so do the math. He's no newbie that's for damn sure.

confused Usher copied MJ...MJ copied James Brown and Jackie Wilson. Who in the last 40 years hasn't copied someone else? Originality has been dead for quite some time now, so all the Justin hate is just hilarious to me, because who out now isn't copying someone from the past? Most of all the good original ideas have been done by someone years ago, so this hating on Justin for being 'unoriginal' is pretty lame to me. Just my twocents .

hmph!

well each to their own i guess

imo the guy can't sing ; his falsetto is weak and his voice lacks any power
furthermore he doesn't he even write his own songs ;
and all those timbaland songs he does sound similar to me and they are devoid of any emotion

Then go post on Madonna threads and Janet threads and Michael Jackson threads etc.
He does write them together with Timbaland, btw. And with NERD. So. He's smart in picking good producers. And he ain't the best singer. But so ain't Madonna. And they both have had good sales. So it is marketing.

It indeed comes down to 'to each their own". It always is. I just dislike the bland dislike for his persona and past. So yeah, he screwed Britney. So what?

Like I said; his singles ARE ace. He wouldn't get so many moan threads on here otherwise.

Agreed. I'll never understand why some copycat artists get mad praise on the Org and other copycat artists get mad hated on. Britney is the most unoriginal artist IMO, yet people think she's great. I'm soo confused confuse At least Justin opens his mouth and tries to sing live instead of turning his mic off or on 'low' and mouthing the words over a backing track, like some artists do.

True. She's always been more an image to me. She just has really great songwriters and producers that are paid very well to make her a credible artist, but take away all those people, her choreographers, and back-up dancers and there's really not much left. lol The only person on the Org who I can say dislikes an artist more than me is Vainandy and his hate for Whitney. I don't hate Britney, only strongly dislike her. nod

ok he's a good business man i'll give him that

however hiring producers or writing a few lines doesn't require any talent

oh and it has nothing to do with 'prejudice' , i just think he sucks ass

I'm not a Timberlake fan, in fact I've never liked Justin at all. He's annoying, pompous, overrated and unoriginal.

However, it's stupid of him to "retire" one of his biggest hits like that. Obviously his fans will want to hear it in the future. Shouldn't the fans decide what a recording artist performs? How do idiots like Timberlake get any fans??

Maybe he'll just retire himself so we never have to hear from him again.

yes because Prince is the only artist to have claimed that.

and he is still performing the songs he said he'd retire during Musicology.

eek "Thriller" over "Billie Jean"?!? shake "Thriller" is his signature video, but "Billie Jean" was/is a far more popular and influential song.
