Love is the Message Fans This is one of my favorite jams and a song with many lives. The original was great, then when the DJ's got to it...well...the rest is music history.
The original by The Three Degrees: MFSB's version. which was an instrumental of the original: REMIXES. I used to hear this version in the clubs in the late 80's: Another cool remix

I like all of them. Incidentally, the version by the Three Degrees, is not really the original version. It is more like an edited version of the MFSB version. It contains their vocals and then cut short. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I've always been confused about this? So MFSB did the cut first?

I've always been confused about this? So MFSB did the cut first? Yes. Love is the Message, is really MFSB, with the Three Degrees doing the background vocals. The Three Degrees were a part of the MFSB family. Incidentally, some of the musicians that made up MFSB, later became part of the SalSoul Orchestra. My favorite remix of "Love is the message", is the one done by Larry Levan. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

And Lemme hear a set of yours Well, I have been spinnin' for about 20 years, in a variety of places, small clubs here in Brooklyn to weddings, house parties, etc. I do it more for the love now that anything else. My music knowledge is VERY deep, I eat, sleep and breathe all types of music. It is the only thing that keeps me sane. I believe his name was Darryl, had to think about it for a moment. He was a great DJ at Bently's Nightclub. That used to be my spot. He did a good mix of L.I.T.M. and other classics. I wonder where he is today. *sigh* those were the days.

update on rock n soul music store...benny is long gone from there but shirley(the owner)shes still there with her daughters and husband i think he's still in the front of the store..store has changed a lot mostly they sell electronic stuff there now mixers, amps,cd players 16-24 track boards in the record location its scaled back because of the downloading stuff so u really dont see a lot of 12 inch disc they still have the latest tracks but they now have a big collection of the oldies on 12 inches so i frequent that area a lot..store been there now 30 years and still going.....
