Nice Hammond Organ just sitting outside down the street form me. Man, it's a nice organ just a few blocks from me just chillin' on the side of the road. Looks like the organ Jimmy Smith/Booker T play. I went to try to pick it up, but it was too heavy. Gotta wait 'til someone gets home and it's too early to call one of my boys up.
Hopefully it's still there in a few hours ... PRINCE: Always and Forever

And they say things like that never happen in real life. I sure hope you haven't seen the movie "Punch-Drunk Love".

OH Man. I sure hope it is still there in a few hours. Hopefully, all the works are still inside the organ, too. Wow. If you can get it, I can't believe the luck you have there. No matter your age, pursue your dreams so that you will LIVE.

Did it have a Leslie with it? Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Damn man I'd play on it rightaway for days. Good going.

I'm like "what's this?" AT church, I'm like "is it time to go" hoping no one would see it and take it. On my way back, I stop to pick it up, too heavy. I go home call my peeps, my friends, no one is answering. I then go back and wait for it because, it's a Hammond. My homeboy finally comes, but it don't fit in my car, but moms is on the way home. We put it in the back of the pathfinder and jet before the lady relizes what she had just given away. PRINCE: Always and Forever

He said it's only using internal speakers. I don't know enough about the instrument's inner workings to comment, but if there's an internal problem, maybe that's why it was on the street. If there really is a problem, i'd still keep it and look into getting it fixed. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Don't those old organs have to warm up, per say? It was a lot of crap in the back of it, wire and nodges and knobs and switches. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Most of those organs are completely worthless, and people are just throwing them away because nobody wants them, and thet're too big to store anywhere. Just because an organ is manufactured by Hammond does not mean that it would have anything to do with the B3 + combined with a Leslie sound. There is a perfectly good reason why you can walk in the woods and sometimes encounter with a smaller Hammond or a Yamaha Electone model there.
However, If it's a Hammond M100(?), or of the same series, then it's not complete crap (but don't expect anything that great). I guess though that it would be cheaper to get a new one than get it repaired. It needs to warm up for a few minutes though, but not for that long. The internal speaker is not leslie -type from what I can remember. Open up the back and see if the tubes are still there. If the owner of the item took them away before throwing it away, then it's not going to make any sound obviously. Buying new ones would be completely pointless, you'd get several used 60s / 70s organs for that price. Oh yeah, and... (edited:) In order to do any maintenance work on it, you'd need to do some research first on how the unit is designed and what's the safest way to handle it. Before opening it up, disconnect the unit first COMPLETELY from the wall outlet (old tube technology behaves completely differently than modern, safer gear - altough this one comes from an era where it's hard to tell how you should exactly ground yourself in relation to the unit). Poking around especially on the tube circuitry part of it isn't self-explanatory, it's not like dealing with modern keyboards or PCs. The result might be a hefty electrical shock.
