Cyndi Lauper Concert. Dublin, Ireland 18th October 2008 Well, what can I say and asbsolutely brilliant concert by Ms. Lauper...this weekend was the first time she ever played in Irleand, and it was well worth the wait. No miming, facy lights or dancers and it was amazing...
Energetic, humourous and moving she is one of the best live performers I've seen...what a voice....all the hits (EXCEPT TRUE COLORS !!!!!) and songs from her fantastic latest album 'bring ya to the brink'. Brilliant interaction with the audience and funny stories -one about it's a bad idea to meet your idols...she said she met bob dylan and he was an asshole...ha ha I only had her greatest hits cd and the latest one above, but now I must investigate ALL her work...catch her live if you can.....you won't regret it !

I saw her live myself last week and she was great. Such a natural. She talks to the audience as if they're just a friend come round for a cosy chat. I think the highlights of the show were "Into The Nightlife" and "I Drove All Night". It goes without saying her vocals were flawless. She also looked stunning! My only complaint was it was over too quick.
P.S. Disappointed with Bob for not showing Cyndi due respect. I guess they must have met in the '80s and Bob probably had her pegged as just another novelty act. His mistake. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

Okay, I just saw her Bob comments on Youtube. Seems like he was complimenting her, but made a borderline sexist comment too about "chicks". Like me, Bob is a man of many sides. I've seen him making feminist comments about the superiority of women in the past, and also heard him sing some pretty sexist lyrics too (I can't relate to sexism at all).
And HamsterHuey, you don't need to ask who Bob is. There is only one Bob. “The man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”

She's a must-see live act. I've been saying 4 decades that she's perhaps the most underrated performer out there. Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

I saw her in London a couple of weeks ago. She did True Colors at ours, but I have a friend who saw the Dublin show saying she sang SHINE there. I love anything from the Shine album but we didn't get anything.
