This song was also recorded by Blue Magic around the same time (1974) but their version isn't nearly as good as the Main Ingredient.

That song's all good and dandy but I'm in love with this joint (pre-Cuba Gooding, Sr.):

"Spinning Around (I Must Be Falling in Love)" I don't think I remember that one. I'd have to hear it again. Andy is a four letter word.

This thread reminds me: there's a really good Main Ingredient compilation that was released not so long ago.I'm gonna pick it up this weekend. It is superior to previous compilations and it even includes the full-length extended version of "Happiness Is Just Around The Bend"

The lead singer of the song died of leukemia a few months after that song came out. Cuba joined shortly after that and they came out with "Everybody Plays the Fool". It probably wasn't played on pop stations anyway.

I think both versions are great in their own unique way. I actually had heard the Blue Magic version first and liked it. But this version kicks ass too. [Edited 10/15/08 17:58pm]

Isn't it amazing how *soulful* the R&B songs were back then? You listen to this stuff and you can actually FEEL what they're singing. There's so much emotion in these songs!
