Janet's Tour on Hold- SHE'S BACK!!! P.2

PO Fan City - A representative for Janet Jackson says the singer is recovering comfortably at home after "getting suddenly ill" during her North American tour. Janet wants all of her fans to know that she is anxious to return to the stage.

According to a statement released by Evvy Public Relations, the singer cancelled one week of concerts after being rushed to the hospital during her sound check in Montreal.

The statement says Jackson is being monitored by her doctors and hopes to resusme her tour on Friday, October 10. No further information on her condition is available at this time.

Now was that soooo hard????

It's about time they release a statement. I'm glad I saw my show already when she came to Oakland last month. Glad for those still waiting to see her that she will return soon.

Quite frankly, I don't believe that she is sick. The tickets for her concerts have not been selling as well as they expected so, she is pulling this "I'm sick" thing to hold off her getting sued by the promoters of the tour. No one wants to pay money just to see her whisper especially when you have to pay extra for the hearing impaired subtitles. You know something is wrong, when "old ass", Madonna is out selling Janet.

If what you say is true,I think Janet could have prevented this mess by simply scheduling shows in smaller venues. It was a risky move to schedule shows in large venues when she hasn't had a hit record in years.

Please note that selling at 80-100% capacity and grossing $1 million per show is not going to get the tour cancelled or get the artist sued by the promoter If she wasn't moving tickets, LiveNation would have simply cancelled the tour, as they did with Kelly Clarkson's several years ago.

There is no reason for speculation re: Janet's ticket sales, as they are reported in Billboard magazine every week.

her lack of honesty and openness, which cost her after the superbowl, is causing the speculation that will ultimatly hurt her carear more.

like i pointed out in the other thread. other artist are public about when they have serious health issues on tour... Madonna and her voice in BAT, Kylie and the whole Showgirl Breast Cancer thing, it would look better if Janet just came out and said look this is what's up.

If the facts and figures are there and people wish to ignore them, they will ignore them no matter what statements are released by Janet, which will be viewed by her detractors as spin anyway. For example, when Janet hit Toronto - before the illness - the Toronto media reported that the venue was 50% full and Janet's tour was in trouble (I was there and it was 90-95% full).

Thank you! So many people fail to grasp this. I work for a music agent. You'd be surprised how many big acts don't COMPLETELY SELL OUT. And you can't go by how full the arena looks for paid tickets - sluggish paid tickets mean the promoter comps a shitload of people so at least a) it will look better and b) the venue will get more money from food and beverage.

All the numbers I've seen for Janet so far are FINE to GOOD.

And Pollstar is the main source for live music, that's where billboard gets their info from. So this cancelling bc of low tickets is all bullshit. I have several friends at LN - it's bullshit. LN is sticking to their story - she's exhausted and ill.

Janet is not Kelly by any stretch of the imagination. She is not selling 100% capacity. I have a gut feeling that she will cancel this tour.

LN would have already cancelled the tour if advance sales were indicative of a non-profitable venture. From the few shows she has done already, 53K have attended and it's grossed near $6 million

50 percent in Toronto? I don't believe that, I was there and it was at least 85 to 90 percent full, it was the top section in the centre back of the stadium that was almost empty, and that was just the top half of a section.

No,she won't cancel the tour.If she did,it would be a public relations disaster for her and many fans would be pissed.I predict she'll go ahead with the remaining U.S. dates and then stop and re-evaluate things before going further. If and when she decides to tour again, she may have to make some changes (smaller venues, lower prices?).

there's nothing wrong about Madonna being more successful than Janet. As far as I know it always was that way. Control sold 6 mio, True Blue 18. (although I prefer Control).

The same goes for the tours. also M's shows are far more intersting. It's never sure which songs she's gonna do and in which form. Her shows have much more controversy...

also M's no mimose and usually doesn't get sick.

I am not really a Janet Jackson fan, but it is sad she is sick.

Now.. this is weird, I saw advertised yesterday evening, Tyra was going to take a ride on Janet's tour bus with Janet?

So maybe she is better.

To me there is no comparison between Madonna and Janet. Madonna is exceptional as far as keeping herself in to condition over the years. I hate to say this, but Madonna is just in another league.

I don't think it's all that- your opinion though- but Ido think Janet outshines Madonna in certain areas

charisma
dance
beauty

although i've always said that Madona is wittier than Jan

Yes.. I do not know about dance, but I do think Janet is prettier than Madonna and perhaps is more charismatic to some.

I am more talking Madonna just.. it just seems she is .. in another league in regard to keeping in shape and her success. (I am not really a fan of hers either.. not so much. She's Ok., but so is Janet.)

You know what, I think Madonna is in another league compared to a lot of entertainers even men. eek lol

P.S. I just feel bad Janet is sick. I hope she is going to get well soon.

They have postponed MSG until Nov. 1st. I think they rescheduled this show so that she does not do 3 in a row. I now need to cancel my tickets and flight, as I can no longer attend on that day.

Her management has told the venues that her shows this weekend are proceeding. Oh, well. At least I will see those.

Whoa. Close call. I had a friend flying in from Europe early to attend MSG. He will be glad he changed his mind.

Three in a row is a lot.

For what the show is, it's definitely tough. This is now a sane schedule for her.

I was fifth row floor at MSG, and I'm really disappointed.

I didn’t know you were going to MSG as well. That sucks. At least you know when the new date is instead of wondering when it’ll be. Little consolation I know but I hate wondering if or when a show will be made up.

Dear Fans,

I love you all Dearly- but I can no longer bare to postpone and or reschedule every single future tour date. Therefore, I have decided to stay in bed, rest, recuperate, watch t.v., eat gold fish crackers, drink a little Mistic (strawberry grape), and check out what the cool peeps on Org have to say about me. I am truly sorry for any of the inconvenience in your schedules, lost wages, returned concert tickets and hurt feelings.
