Harlepolis

She has ALOT of spunk,,,,I may not be THAT impressed with her music, but the woman put on a REAL show.

She and Billie Holiday used to throw the WILDEST parties whenever they got together.

Ottensen

That's my GURL! She was crazy as HELL, but when she did her scattin' and improvs would whip her band players' butts. I call her "my Irish Ella" fallinluv

Just go ahead and start with a greatest hits compilation to familiarize yourself.

Just as a piece of mindless trivia, she did admit in later years that she was high as a kite during this performance. She couldn't remember the exact time frame, but admitted that she had indeed shot up heroin in the bathroom before she performed this set.

She was a hot mess, but I'm glad she recovered, got sober and manged to stay around as long as she did. I cried when I heard she died...Rest in peace, Miss O'Day butterfly

Thanks! I don't know much about her. Would you recommend anything besides a greatest hits set? I would prefer a full studio album, but I'll certain give a best-of a listen.
