I used to dance my 7-yr-old heart out to this song back then. But I always skip it now, and think its the 2nd worst track on the album behind "She's Out Of My Life".

i love both of those- it's hard to skip any songs on that album- maybe off the wall 'cause i've heard it sooo many times- but they are all infectious- just when you're gonna fast foward you end up listening anyway

Great song, gotta love the Louis Johnson Slap Bass. Can never go wrong with that. Michael shows off a lot of his Vocal register in this song. "Everybody" from "Triumph" is in the same vibe as this one to me. Musically, and even lyrically.

"Everybody":

Oh, everybody, get down on the floor
I love the way you shake your thing
You make me want some more

"Get On The Floor":

So Get On The Floor
And Dance With Me
I Love The Way You Shake Your Thing
Especially

lol

That's Louis playing the bass part only- I LOVE the bass in this song.

One of Mj's best and most underrated songs.

yeah and he talked about that in his autobiography Moonwalker. I think one of his brothers mainly wrote Everbody and ripped of MJ's song.

This sounds slower than the version I have.
It's a great song, my sixth favourite on the album.

Agree 100%. When most of his music still had soul.

In musical terms "soul" simply means that the performer makes their audience believe what they're singing, to portray great feeling and emotion.
That makes Mike one of the most consistantly soulful perfomers in music to this day. But naturally props are withheld because it's Michael Jackson.

Exactly. The guy never lost his 'soul'. The passion and intensity in his voice was still there.
I think they're confusing soul with sounding joyful.
