Another Janet concert canceled/Access Hollywood report a lie... Janet Jackson To Set The Record Straight?
By: Janine Coveney Singer Janet Jackson has called off another show on her Rock Witchu Tour -- this time it was tonight's (October 13th) concert at the Turning Stone Event Center in Verona, New York. More shows could also be canceled and postponed as Jackson deals with an undisclosed illness. According to the fan site janet-planet.org, Jackson will be featured on a segment of tonight's Access Hollywood to discuss what is ailing her and the status of the tour. Check local listings for time and channel. Meanwhile, several media outlets have been speculating about the cause of Jackson's scuttled tour dates, everything from bad reviews, possible pregnancy, exhaustion, and poor ticket sales. Last week ABCNews.com asked, "Is Janet Jackson Spinning Out Of Control?" in a headline. [Edited 10/13/08 17:25pm]

I guess we'll have to wait and see what the spin contol will be. just hope her handlers don't put out a generic vague statement.
where is Reebie? We could always count on her to tell us the truth about what's going on... LOVE HARD.

Whatever it is, I hope it's not telling folks she's okay enough to do a show.

MediaTakeout is reporting that Janet is not sick and the promoters are canceling the shows due to poor ticket sales.
http://www.mediatakeout.c...sales.html October 12, 2008. MediaTakeOut.com just caught wind of a report being run on the ABC News site. According to that report, Janet Jackson may be FORCED to stop performing by the promoter. Here's an excerpt from the report on ABC News: The former Jackson family spokesman known only as Phoenix is skeptical of reports of vertigo, adding that Randy has been out of touch with his sister. "It's not really Janet, it's the promoter," said Phoenix, who stays in contact with the family and fronts a Jackson tribute band called the "Dancing Machine Revue." "They are pulling out due to bad ticket sales. Janet might have been one of the greatest pop icons in her time. But Janet Jackson, at 42 years old, does not have the same appeal as in '89 with 'Rhythm Nation.' Other artists took that throne -- Ashanti and Beyonce. This is what you call a publicity stunt." Hold up... did he just say ASHANTI or Beyonce???? You see now we were believing the report until that statement right there!!. They're the last people to report on actual news. Believe it or not, they are usually pretty accurate. Besides, they are saying that the source is ABC News. I edited my original post with the story. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The thing about MTO though is they always post it like it's breaking news when I get the news like three days before they do.

Which is why I don't believe the story of low ticket sales...

You can tell that it's having a negative effect on Janet's career. But also this tour also turned friends against each other. One poster posted a video on YouTube talking about how he trusted this big Janet fan to give him back the money he gave her for tickets to one of the three shows they were supposed to be attending. I'm thinking all the dates were canceled at this point or postponed but he was so upset he started saying to her "bitch where's my money!" and going off on her for what he thought was disrespect.
I hoped Janet can explain though.

I hoped Janet can explain though. I can see it now... a movie on the different outcomes of fans across the country based on this tour. Fallouts, money lost, flight changes, cancellations, hope, despair, worry, breakups... Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Fallouts, money lost, flight changes, cancellations, hope, despair, worry, breakups... but its not simple - getting your money back from ticketmaster- I just called them and because the show is in another state- they said they would call me back once they had contacted the venue?? crazy..... LOVE HARD.

I don't think Janet's ticket prices are anything out of the ordinary when you look at what others are charging like Beyonce (when I saw her last year), Mary J. Blige and others. I do think that Live Nation jacked up her schedule, I mean really no breaks in between. They were really planning on working her for real.

When money is involved it's always serious. And whenever fans start traveling to see folks and things like this happen there are always interesting and intertwined stories to come out of it that you would never expect. On the surface it looks like a cancellation but underneath... Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

If Janet ever decides to tour in the future, fans are gonna be afraid to buy tickets They're gonna remember the 'Rockwitchu Tour' and will be very skeptical. She may have hurt her chances at having successful tours in the future.

Which is why I don't believe the story of low ticket sales... I know the Texas ticket sales are low. So are the Oklahoma sales. I heard on the radio that the Dallas show has only sold around 4,000 seats in a 20,000 seater arena. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

i believe something is really wrong with her, i just cant see her doing this at this stage in her career, especially with the great reviews she's gotten from the few shows she already did.i think if it was all about ticket sales they wouldnt cancel shows minutes before show time, that really dont make sense to me, i mean dont people still have to be paid for showing up to work that night?
