it's a good song from my favorite Chic album. I think Risque has stronger hit singles but fillers as well wheread Ces't Chic has beautiful album tracks like Happy Man and Sometimes You Win.

That's among their songs that nobody can touch along with "Le Freak", "Everybody Dance" and Dance, Dance, Dance". Easily the best of the disco bunch. Hell, among the best in the board pop category.

This is Chic's best single A warm, hypnotic jam with a great bassline and lush strings throughout.Brings back childhood memories for me.I got the 'C'est Chic' album as a present for Christmas 1978.When I got to Side Two and heard this wonderful song,I was hooked.

Love it! My #1 groove on that album is "Chic Cheer." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I started this topic because I made a cd for a co-worker, and everyone wanted to hear it, and when this song came on, another co-worker hadn't heard it in years and started having flashbacks about it. I think that Chic is one of the most underrated groups in popular music, but with songs like this, I don't think they'll ever be forgotten. Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!

That's well said and I agree. My dad played a lot of Chic around the house.

The arrangement is sick; it's horns and strings make it feel so elegant. I could listen to the groove for hours. I feel the wanting. One of my favorite songs. Wish I could have danced to it in the discos. [Edited 10/11/08 20:18pm]

I know what you mean!! The arrangement on this song is hypnotic. Those strings and that bassline!! Incredible! You can feel the longing, the desperation.I dare anyone to listen to this song and then tell me that "disco sucks".
