Who's yo fave PIANIST???

Teddy Wilson-He's my hero when he put his fingaz down on them keys. His best recordings are the ones with Billie Holidy and Charlie Parker. He was the reason why I became a pianist.

Thank U Teddy smile

TRON

I really like Tori's style.

And as far as music written for the piano, Debussey makes my head spin. Great impressionistic stuff.

I'm a fan of Chick Korea. I also like Glen Gould (of course), Rick Wakeman and, to be honest, Prince.

Tron mentioned people who wrote for piano, I'd have to say Lizst was pretty wild, Debussy was great as well.

Damn, I can't remember who wrote that song featured in the movie "Shine".

??

Overrated:
Elton John (don't get me wrong, I like some of his stuff, but he is praised way too much for his piano playing.)
Alicia Keys (Beyond the level of overrated)

I'm also my favorite. But for me, the two BEST pianists in pop are Bruce Hornsby and Ben Folds. I'd probably give the edge to Bruce because he plays a little cleaner. Just listen to his Spirit Trail CD, he's absolutely phenomenal on the keys.

I had the pleasure to see and hear the late Mr. John L. Nelson a couple of times playing some really cool, outlandish and very impressive piano stuff, so he's also right up there with them...
