Where have you been?!? Some of the rap artists before Ja Rule's time were undercover Prince fans (Egyptian Lover, anyone?!?). 2pac & MC Hammer were real die-hard Prince fans. Even when some hip-hop & rap critics were bashing Prince, Pac & Hammer still had nothing but respect for the man. That is THE only reason why Prince never had a problem with those guys sampling his music. indeed, 2pac's To Live and die in LA is one of the best uses of a Prince sample you will ever hear. great stuff. just wish prince and 2pac had done a track! would have been cool!

BlaqueKnight said: Everybody disses Prince on the waering high heels thing. Sorry, that's a general rule. Short or not, when you wear heels, you get strikes on your man card.
He was just pissed because Prince wouldn't clear a sample he wanted to use and started in on the high heel thing. If his ass wasn't sampling in the first place, he wouldn't have to worry about clearances. They are doing this to gain some attention.. and it worked for about a day.. Prince clears no samples, or he probably would've been the most sampled of all-time. These producers have moved-on from "Off The Wall Michael Jackson's sound" to Prince, but they cannot pull-it-off without the clearances. Prince plays alot of jazz, and soft-soul, but he is a product of 70's early 80's funk. You have to had been there, to have that style of play. The High Heels: Hey "I try to argue, but they say..." Still, The Murder Inc. guys are very fortunate and blessed to be sitting in a studio now. To hold-on to that grudge (when it seemed to have happened at their peak) is low class. Write your own "Prince-sounding music", The Dream is... Danja and Timbaland are.. Pharrell... It's not good, but they aren't holding any grudges.. (well Timbaland and Justin did/are..lololol). Prince should call for a "Don't Ever Try To Sound Like Prince Contest". lololololol. These producers wore-out sampling the 70's, Rick James, and MJ... Now, they must turn to Prince and the rest of the 80's, but Prince doesn't need the $$$$, and WB might block clearances.. Who knows? If you are talking about: shooting another brother's head off over streets you don't really own, Prince won't clear it.. [Edited 10/14/08 13:22pm]

Prince is such a punk, but they watend to sample him anyway?
Why even sample a Prince song if they felt that way to begin with? I noticed by the conversation that they refuse to be angry with Nas for leaving their camp.. Is that fair? lololol. Those brothers need YHWH.
