Yes thanks. It is a Japanese song. One of my students was singing it in class and I asked her if she liked hip-hop. She looked at me like I was nuts and then explained that the song is called Sukiyaki. That part of the song has been sampled by many artists. | |

The song's original title was "Ue o muite aruko" means, I shall walk looking up. It was sung by a man named, Kyu Sakamoto. It is said to be based on an old folk song about a man who has lost his love and he "walks looking up, so that his tears, won't fall". It's name was changed to "Sukiyak because the an american artist who wanted to cover the song at the time, thought that the original title might be too hard for Americans to remember.
