That Stone City Band "In N Out" album is a rare find.

It's very easy to find online smile

Only seen it once in an actual record store, though.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Wow. I bought both the Rick James and Issac Hayes releases you listed on my last big vinyl dig. Sadly, they were in pretty ("Don't Let Go" skips badly, too). Those all look like great picks (hell, even Mariah's first album is probably not without charm).

Here is a little trick that I use when I DJ. If I one of my records have been scratched, I just rub a piece of soap over the scratch and then brush it gently with a toothbrush. Try it and see.

It works, I telling you. Just take a piece of soap and rub it over the scratch, the soap acts like a temporary barrier and the record will not scratch.

yes, I know today's the 5th
but I went on yesterday afternoon

pretty day for a road trip huhn? cool

I went to the Music Treasure Chest
in Baton Rouge, LA

got this on the strength of that Growing Pains DVD
Mary J. Blige interview, THIRD COAST rapper Fat Pat (R.I.P.)
& Harlepolis (remember you mentioned this song "over there")

I try to pick up all things Kalimba!!! lol
saw a copy of Faces, but it was missing a record sad

got this on the strength of
that Butterflies thread thanx Cinnie

classic Sade

classic Sade

never heard this one before
and I got (or once had)
most of the GCS stuff on vinyl

I got this for my friend
he loves Donny/Stevie/Frank McComb
I used to have this CD

it's funny how this was one of
the first ones I spotted out
when I got to the place...
"I Call Your Name" is the reason why
but I had been looking for this
album to get into the rest of it

classic Nanny Ree... "I Get High"/"Jump" is the reason why

classic DeBarge... bought it for "Be My Lady"
but then noticed "Stay With Me", "A Dream", "Love Me In A Special Way"
are all here too... this must have been THE BIG ALBUM from this group

saw "Outstanding" was there... but listening to it
it's not the version I wanted... maybe I need to
find the 12" single... my cousin Cheryl had it

aformentioned in the DeBarge thread...
I took an interest to the post-J5 stuff
after you guys mentioned so much about
the Destiny & Triumph albums...
shout out to Timmy for the "That's What You Get" clip
my fave from here is "Push Me Away" though

I played this record last night
can somebody tell me who sampled
that beginning part of "Heartbreak Hotel"?
I KNOW I've heard it somewheres...I KNOW IT!!!

once again... I was looking for ALL that post-J5 stuff
I didn't see Victory, or the first one...

"Vanishing" is the reason why
among the obvious "Vision Of Love", "Someday"
shout out to muse87

self explanatory... but if you need
an explanation... "Just Like A Baby"
"(You Caught Me) Smilin'"
& "Poet" are reasons why love

I sold my old copy back a while ago
because the cover was in terrible condition
besides the cool glasses were missing
and guess what???

what are the fucking chances!!! lol
I always see copies of this sans the
pop-out glasses, on digs
but never WITH the glasses... I'm so happy
I almost wanna pop them out
and take a pic with them on ROTFL
(maybe one day)

12" for "Funk U Up" by The Sequence
I have become somewhat of a STAN
of Angie B, Cheryl The Pearl & BLAHN-DEE HAAAAY! lol

I usually will pick it up
if I see the Stone City Band emblem
or Rick James... never heard this one
is it any good?

ditto

my "Baby Fingers" vinyl catalog is
almost complete, I now need those
first 2 Prestige albums, and the Now album
and I'm good

picked this up on the strength of that
"Galaxy" thread... shoutout funkpill

it was SoulAlive who suggested
these 2 albums too me... I kept them in mind smile

I'm so happy right now
I honestly don't know
which one to listen to next wink

nice albums smile
but just 1 12"? razz

that would probably be the
most appropriate label for me smile

being that I'm always asked
am I a DJ... which I am, in a way
moreso an "aspiring DJ"

but yeah... like 20% of my vinyl
I've had since I was a kid...
but I kicked it into overdrive around
the summer of '04...
going on digs any & every chance I get
it all started with collecting stuff from
the Rufus/Chaka Khan & Prince catalogs

***btw... I dig your screenname
that is one of my favs from For You
I really dig the "aaaaah"s in the background
during the bridge...
"you are the only one that keeps me going
you are the only one that keeps my love alive"

it's just a dope song altogether
