People have no clue how much it costs to put on a show like this. She spares no expense. If Madonna didn't charge the prices that she does, her shows wouldn't make much of a profit at all.

it's a catch 22...if she charged less and stripped the show down people would say she was boring, too old to keep up, out of ideas, etc. if she puts on the grand spectacle everyone expects, she charges too much and is a greedy old has been cow who should hang it up.

i say charge the money, make the profit, put on the best god damned show you can and let everyone say what they will. every review of this show has been positively glowing. overpriced or not, she's obviously earning her pay.

I agree.Madonna would get criticized no matter what she does so I say,go ahead and do the big, extravagant show and charge alot to see it.Personally,I have no problem paying alot to see her.She always puts on a thrilling show and I always feel like I got my money's worth.I don't think of her shows as a typical concert anyway. It's a spectacle....an "event"....a big theatrical production. These things cost money.

cool Artists like Madonna will always charge that much & more for tickets if hard core fans keep paying it to see their shows. It is crazy because they do have control over what to price for tickets. I think the Rolling Stones are the highest..i might be wrong. cool

I think both the Stones and Madonna are now charging around $350/seat.

I could be wrong on this, but wasn't it the Eagles who started this whole $300-a-ticket trend in the mid-90s when they reunited for a huge tour?

Any tips on getting a ticket from the scalpers? Or Craigslist? Maybe I can get a deal there, I just don't want to get ripped off innocent

The last tour, i got tickets off Craigslist a couple of weeks before the show. I had my paying price set. When I saw someone's offer, I lowballed it (asked for less than they were selling it for) and she accepted -- I think because she wanted to get it over with. I think she maybe even Fedex'ed me the tickets before I paid.

I have bought other tickets on Craigslist as well. A lot of fans have an ethic of not ripping off other fans. So if you find someone who is a true Madge fan, it usually works out fine.

BUT -- I recently got ripped off when I bought a car on Craigslist, (lost $3000) so I admit I'm a bit more paranoid than usual this time around.

Whatever you do,make sure you got your ticket by November 1st lol We still gotta find a place to meet up beforehand.

No, it is cuz everybody downloads their albums for free, so they need to make their money through pive performances/tours/merchandise.

It's why Madonna and Prince tour so much still; tours is where the money is. And if fools keep paying money, then why not.

btw, Madonna did not sell out her current (or latest) tour, so people are already starting to get wise.

i wouldn't use prince as an example. he's been touring and gigging excessively since before the internet, and he's always had reasonably priced tickets. sure, they can run on the expensive side, but compared to madonna ticket prices, prince tix are big lots bargain basement priced.

co sign,,,, the truth..

I haven't read the whole thread but isn't Madonna in association with StubHub? I thought I heard that earlier this year and if so then shame on her ass. I'm a fan of hers but part of why I can't be a huge Madonna fan is because she charges so much damn money for a ticket everytime she performs. I wanted to see her this year too but there is no way in hell I'm going to pay $350 for ANYONE. I wouldn't even pay that to see Prince and he's my favorite artist. I mean, that's a car payment right there! I totally understand that it cost money to do a big show but something has got to give but as long as you have stupid people paying ridiculously stupid prices to see these folks, Madonna and others will keep doing it. And I fully expect that her ticket prices on her next tour will be $375, hell even $400. You watch.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

hmmm...prince has recently put on shows that were 312.10 as well as 3121.00. in australia a few years back, he had tickets that were 1000 Aussie bucks.

don't play. prince thinks he's worth it and so do his fans, just as madonna thinks she's worth it as do her fans.

yes 312.10 "las vegas" and australia.... yes... but the thing is that madonna is always expensive..... i´m just saying that prince isn´t like madonna..

because she can be, lol. if prince charged that much on major outings, he wouldn't move any tickets. the vegas shows didn't even sell out.

Exactly.I don't know why everyone keeps mentioning the $350 tickets. She has four different prices and despite what some may think, you don't need to have the "best seats" to enjoy this show.

nod And let's be honest,if Prince could get away with this (charging Madonna's prices and selling out shows),he would do the same thing. In fact, many other artists would do it too,if they could.Who doesn't want to make as much money as they possibly can?

All I know, is the Eagles were the first concert I ever went to. I think tickets ran about $15 at the time. lol

that's right, in fact, I feel the scale of the spectacle improves with a more bird's eye view. Granted, I have never experienced it up front, but I really like to be able to see all the elements playing together at once, preferably from the center, rather than moving my head around. I need to sit somewhere where I can take in all six video screens, 16 dancers on the catwalks, as well as the manic audience in one view! lol

Like I said before, you DON'T have to pay $350 to have a decent seat at this show.Trust me on this.On the Confessions Tour,I got a great seat in the next price range ($175) and I had a GREAT view of the stage.Sassy and Heartbeatocean were sitting nearby,in this same section lol

You should only pay top price if it's within your budget.

I'm a Mississippi whore and that's still way too much. The most I've ever paid for a concert is $75 and that's only because it was Prince. I wouldn't pay near that much for anyone else.

That's a little more like it. But $55.00 for most shows down here would put you up front.
