He was at his peak and doing the job for the sheer enjoyment of it back then, something he'll never do again it seems. I think some of when was the "greatest" is also a matter of taste. For me, YES I love vintage Michael, but at the same time, I also love it when Michael expresses his true emotions through song, ala most of HIStory and some of Blood On The Dance Floor (new content), that is why I was so disappointed when Invincible dropped, after having some highly personal and amazing albums, not only did most of the beats kinda stink, it felt too commercial. Sure, there were some gems, but overall, it was just trying too hard. It is pretty sad when I felt like Nsync's "Celebrity" (released earlier that year) was 10x better because it was more personal and better overall. I never thought I'd see the day when a boyband released a better album then MJ, but in 2001, I'm pretty sure I did. Sad. Put on your loafers Michael and get yo ass to work. PLEASE!!! And not another Invincible. If anything HIStory Book II is long over-fucking-due. Celebirty better than Invincible? You on crack? Have to disagree there. Michael is great of course, I just wish he'd stop thinking about hits and make songs from the heart again. [Edited 10/5/08 11:06am]

[Edited 10/3/08 14:21pm] He did some nasty stuff with the mike. I´m loving it. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

[Edited 10/5/08 11:06am] Dah dah dah derdy derdy derdy POP Shoulda been the track listing for Invincible: Seriously, again it is all a matter of taste, but I think Invincible had like 5-6 strong songs, and the rest should have been given to someone like Usher or Justin, because they were just average. At least with "Pop" the boys of Nsync (who I can not stand) were trying to be innovative, and made some fresh music, that paid off! If you listen to Celebrity, beyond the "hits" you will discover a great album that should have had Michael's voice and name on it. (And maybe some better lyrics over some of the beats.) Did you join this forum to talk about Michael? Does it really matter? This is the Music: Non-Prince section. I see someone that joined only to talk about Debarge.

If you make several threads about the same artist saying the same thing, it's gonna annoy the other posters.
