"Blues Away" music

I wish they would remaster 'The Jacksons' album from 1976,produced by Gamble and Huff. That's one of the best Jacksons albums!

I actually wanted to start a topic about those 4 forgotten Jackson gems.

As we all know Blues Away was Michael's first self-written song that was published.

It's pretty good even in comparism to the other songs of the album.

The others are Do What You Wanna, Style Of Life and Different Kind Of Girl, which is pretty cool.

as far as I know Style Of Life had not much influence by Michael but I like it maybe because of Michael's dreamy vocals.

Id like to be yours....tomorrow...

Love Blues Away.

The fact that this is his first song on wax that he wrote alone speaks volumes for what his capable of making. With he would turn back to live instrumentation of the 70's for the next album to give that warm jazzy feel again.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

This is what I´m calling music. Not one song written in 2005-2008 can

stand to Blues Away. Mikes voice is perfect!Where is the singer today that can sing so souful like Mike on this track??
When it comes to this genre of music even Prince doesen´t stand a change. Michael is the Master.

Me, too! Never got to hear "Call On Me", until a few years back...one of those Motown archive recordings that didn't get released until decades later....this is the original 1973 mix ( a different, "updated" and overdubbed mix was released in the 80's...)

Yeah, I prefer the original mix. It's on the double disc set Anthology: The Best Of Michael Jackson along with a few other tracks in their original form. Good stuff.

I like the 1973 mix of "Call On Me" too. I think the first time it was released was in 1984 on Farewell My Summer Love, with some cheesy 80s synth overdubs that don't really mesh with the original instrumentation.
