i've not known her to postpone more the one show- remember what I said about detroit- I felt like it was more to it than just "tour constraints" or whatever....

Well, she just canceled her show in Boston. I wonder if she is sick because she can't keep the tour pace up. Her shows are always very demanding physically, since she's more of a dancer than a singer.

heck even Madonna took up (plucking a) guitar (string) to fill in for some of that stage time.

It's interesting to look at Madonna here. Just like Janet she took a seven year break from touring, and coincidentally she was exactly the same age as Janet at the time. She was 35 when she stopped touring in 1993. She was 42 when she started again in 2001. Well, if you compare the Madge of '01 to the Madge of '93 the drop in her energy levels is STUNNING! I'd say she was using about one fifth of the energy she'd used on her previous tour. ONE FIFTH! Madonna knew she couldn't match her old pace so she didn't try to.

I've got no doubt Janet will have arranged the show to take account of her age, but I still think she probably overestimated what she was capable of. I don't agree with all these people bashing her for her weight, but it's certainly true that carrying a good three-stone extra in weight is gonna make life a lot harder for a dancer. That was the first thing I thought when I saw the pictures of her from this tour. Again, it's just common sense.
