picked it up early here in NYC on friday, just getting a listen now, because i was working nonstop at fashion week, but once again Lindsay kicks ass!

It's released this Tuesday, 9/16. I heard the 1st single, "Did you miss me".

Not bad, but I never bought any of his solo albums before.

Agreed. It's incredible how, after nearly 40 years in the business, he keeps coming out with exciting and valid music. The reviews for it have been overwhelmingly positive too.

Yeah i got it early from one of the stores here in the village that gets the new releases the thursday before. I have all his solo albums and love his writing and more importantly his guitar work and his production is top notch

^ I'm more looking forward to 2009, there's supposed to be another Fleetwood Mac album after their tour.

I wish Stevie Nicks would release something. sad

Lindsey's amazing, a truly underrated guitarist and producer. As a lyricist, he's a little lacking, imo, but he's still been able to create some incredible songs, both with FM and solo. I'll be picking up this album soon, and I also am really looking forward to a new FM album--their last one, Say You Will, was just wonderful.

Yeah, that's a good one too. The only album of his I'm not fond of is Go Insane.
I'm enjoying Gift Of Screws very much.

Basically. if you dig Lindsey at all, you'll like this. Great songs. great perfomances, great Lindsey! Some of it sounds like it should be a new FM album. Some of it is just classic, but new, Lindsey. And he's still reaching for higher grounds. And he's how old? cool

I think he's 60 this year. I'm loving how there's still so much energy in his current work.

I think he's older than Stevie, and she turned 60 in May of this year.

Will Christine McVie be involved? I was disappointed that she wasn't on board for their 2003 album and tour.

They're gonna be recording new material sometime soon and Christine has already made it clear that she doesn't want to be involved.

Lindsey was asked during promotion for his latest album, it was he who said she has no interest in rejoining the band.
She refuses to tour, so... ummm, that's that, I'm afraid. neutral

Yeah, I hear ya.
I'm not even sure it's going to be a full new studio album.
There's been rumours (lol) that they're just gonna make a few new tracks for another greatest hits set.
If that is true then I don't understand why Chris can't provide a couple of new tracks herself and just not bother touring.

As much as I like Fleetwood Mac, I've never listened to any of Lindsey's solo stuff.

Why is she so against reuniting with the band? Did she have a falling out with somebody?

I don't think so. She retired in 1998 after completing The Dance tour and has shown no interest in any further reunions since.

I think the band released one of their best albums ever without Christine, and I definitely didn't miss her on the last tour. Her love songs are pretty and nice, but aside from a couple songs of hers from the '70s, she doesn't contribute as much to a live show as Lindsey and Stevie (and Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, one of the greatest rhythm sections ever). I like Christine, but she's really not needed. And the band still does "Don't Stop" without her.

I think she's undervalued. She has given the band most of their biggest hits afterall.

Some of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs were written and sung by Christine ("Say That You Love Me","Over My Head","You Make Lovin Fun").I couldn't imagine going to a Fleetwood Mac show without her being there to perform these classics.

I disagree with you on that.

Stevie and Lindsey are definitely the heavy-hitters for the band.
HOWEVER, Christine brought a type of balance to the group. Her melodic contributions helped bridge the gap between the 2.
The one thing about Say You Will that is striking is the Stevie-Lindsey-Stevie-Lindsey-Stevie-Lindsey sound. Compare that to Tango in the Night, where the Stevie-Lindsey-McVie sounds melted into a truly indentifiable Fleetwood Mac sound.

I don't know why she walked away from the band (come on...retired???)...but I hope she comes to her senses for at least one more album before it's too late.
