This song is Timbaland padestrian Its one of the ones I skip on Hard Candy along with Devil Wouldnt Recognize....

And Hard Candy is one of her best if not her best imo.

to me at least since American Life, Madonna has only appeared to be concerned wtih the first two singles, the album and the tour. everything else seems like it's motions.

Is this the 3rd single? Maybe she's waiting until number 4 for Beat goes on.

I agree...crappy artwork. Hopefully the remixes will be good and maybe we'll get a b-side or something.

people! the cover looks awful yes. But the idea is nice. In fact all the single covers of that era looked completely different, each one has it's own charm...

i think releasing GI2M as a (second) single was a big mistake. It's a fan anthem but Beat Goes On would have caught many people's attention!!

I'm really disappointed that this is the 3rd single.

I knew it probably would be. It has "single" written all over it. Maybe that's why I'm not enthused. It's the same way I felt about "Hollywood" and "What It Feels Like For A Girl"?

That, plus the fact that the song is dull and repetitive.

The theme probably would have really hit a nerve with me a year ago, but without my life mirroring the lyrics, I find them and the music itself to be very ho-hum.

That kind of material hasn't worked for her in the U.S. since... what, "Music" and "Don't Tell Me"? That was a lifetime ago by popular music standards. Or some artists' etire career ago.

The radio edit is a huge disappointment.They removed my favorite part of the song....you know the part at the end when you think the song is over (the line "so far away" echoing over and over) and then out of nowhere,Timbaland comes back with a hard,funky beat? How dare they take that part out! I guess they felt that part is too urban/club-sounding for what is essentially an adult contemporary single?
