Oooh!

"Big Time" by Peter Gabriel -- drumstick fingertips on the live bass by Tony Levin, if I recall.

All of Thomas Dolby's "Aliens Ate My Buick" album -- also by Tony Levin, I think. Amazing tone and timing.

"Hungry Like the Wolf" and other early Duran Duran gems -- John Taylor

"Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones -- Victor Wooten killed the tracks on the first 2 albums by them. Amazing player.

One of the baddest bass lines that wasn't even played on a bass guitar:
"Maybe Your Baby" by Stevie Wonder
And I think one of the greatest bass lines ever:
"Today" by Graham Central Station. I don't want to mention other OBVIOUS choices that EVERYBODY usually mentions. I mean, hell, damn near everything by James Jamerson is great. By Bernard Edwards, Bootsy, Stanley, etc. is all great. Sir Nose D'Void is one of the STOOPIDEST, most coldest bass lines. It's beyond funky. It's silly it's so baaad. Then of course u have More Bounce To The Ounce; another ALL TIME great cold blooded bass line that's not even played on bass. Another ALL TIME great bass line that's not on electric bass guitar is "Flashlight". "Got To Be There" bass line by Jamerson is simply beautiful. "Upside Down" by Bernard is cold. So is "I Want Your Love" But again, what bass line by Bernard isn't? Bootsy's "Another Point Of View" and also "How Do You View You" is bangin'. Odd ball choices such as Mark Brown's bass line on "Player's Ball". The tone on that is perfect. Another Mark that was killin' of course was the o.g. Mark from Slave . Mr. Adams.."Wait For Me" & "Snapshot" are faves of mine. "Munchies For Your Love" to "If You Want Me To Stay" by Sly. "I Like The Girls" to "Dookie Stick" which both were P-Funk influenced. Cameo's title track "Alligator Woman" to "Keep It Hot", to "I Just Want To Be" are all BANGIN'.
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."
