I like this song and I even tho it’s about being on the brink of love or a journey with a new lover it makes me sad so I never played it much. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Also my favourite track of the album. But that beat would be even better with Michael's voice.

You heard that slowed-up version supposedly to make it seem like Michael singing it?

You heard that slowed-up version supposedly to make it seem like Michael singing it? Yep, what they did they just did a lower the pitch and slow it down with an audio program, lol, did sound like Mike though, well... Maybe a drunk Mike though. Haha.

Actually, the more I think about it, I think it's more consistent than that one. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Warm vocals, catchy chorus, but overall I found it to be somewhat repetitive.

Yes it was. I think most Janet fans were wanting Luv to be released as a single too. Don't laugh at my funk

there MIGHT be some industry "blacklisting" going on, i know things have changed but Rockwichu, 2Nite, Luv, could and should all be top 10 singles.

I love that album, to me it is her best since All For You, I love all the songs on it start to finish, I haven't been like that with a janet album in awhile

I agree....unfortunatley I agree too and this song is one of the best tracks on the CD. No question about it. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Feedback was released WAY to early. But we know that.
But where they royally fucked up was with "Rock With You." I find the whole "Rock With You" situation curious. First off, why "RTW" as second single? It's got an electronic, house, dance music vibe a la Confessions on a Dancefloor - and we all know how that did at radio. This is the type of track that no matter what, would NEVER get lots of airtime on US radio right now. It just wouldn't. Also - fact she would do a song called "Rock With You?" I found that so bizarre fromt the beginning. Did I hear somewhere it was originally produced by Jermaine Dupri for "20 YO?" It seems like it would have fit with the vibe of "Weekend." Anyhow, sounds like such a JD idea - do a song with the same title as an MJ classic for 2008. Why would she agree to that? So much of her career since 1993 has been about DIVORCING herself from MJ's shadow and image. She has gone by just "Janet" for 15 years, said she wanted to outsell "Thriller," has all but abandoned his pop influence for a more 'urban' sound, done the freaky sex thing compared to his childhood fantasy image - and then she goes and does a song called "Rock With You?" Then names her TOUR after it - but without the proper spelling? "Rock Witchu?" Like "Roll Witchu?" One of her best b sides that also would have been a hit, but I digress. I just don't get it. The single and it's horrid video just killed any momentum that "Discipline" had. After a soft first week that still hit number one, they should have immediately released a video and full blown promo campaign for the second single, which could have been ANY NUMBER OF GREAT SONGS FROM THE ALBUM - "Luv," "Rollercoaster," "Can't B Good," "The Greatest Ex Ever," "The 1," or "Whats Ur Name," - and the go with "Rock With You?" Huh? I still say it should have been Feedback (preview 1st single a la Silly Ho) Luv (1st official single - would have KILLED at radio) The Greatest Ex Ever (2nd single - Totally has a top 40 vibe to it - could be another "Again") RollerCoaster Can't B Good (could have easily been a smash) had it followed other hits But JD fucked that shit up. Or LA. Or both. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I have to go with all three: JD, LA and JJ.
They're the reasons Discipline failed to do what it was supposed to do. See we can blame it on the Super Bowl all we want to and the so-called radio blacklisting but Janet had a chance to make well on this album, people downloaded "Feedback" so much it hit the top 20 and that was the first single of Janet's to do that since "Someone to Call My Lover" six and a half years ago. And "LUV" got a very strong response from fans and critics alike. I'm convinced JD and Janet thought with that song that it would get people interested but it didn't. Instead the second single drew people away. Much like what "So Excited" did for "20 Y.O." There were way better singles on "Discipline" than to just release "Rock Wit U", it would've been better as a dance club-only single for the CLUBS.

I've been playing more Janet lately than I have since Damita Jo came out, and I've come to the conclusion that she just doesn't have the drive that she once had. Maybe it's cause she's finally happy and in a stable relationship (and good for her, if that's true), or maybe it's just because she's been in the biz since she was a child (and that's understandable, too). But the Janet of 1993 never would've put out 20 Y0 and Discipline. They're too dated, too generic, too overthought and overproduced. The synth guitar on "Never letchu Go" (can you believe that she named a song THAT?) is easily the cheesiest moment on a Janet song EVER, even moreso that Whoops Now, Special, and Livin in a World put together. I can't believe that she'd ever record something like that and put it out on her "comeback" album.
Even stuff like Would You Mind and Love Scene that were less songs than excuses to orgasm on record at least sounded good. The second half of Discipline and most of 20 YO are head-scratchingly turgid. It's just puzzling to me; I expect Prince's new music to sound dated and generic, because he at least writes and produces it all himself. He's in his own hermetically sealed bubble, and that's a more valid excuse than having all of the "of the moment" artists writing stuff for you that sounds like bad Boyz II Men songs from 1994 that the second part of Discipline consists of. Where is the quality control that made everything from Control to Janet turn to gold, and at least made Velvet Rope come off sounding edgy? All For You could be accepted as a momentarly lapse, and Damita Jo was a fun, party record. But her latest output is so generic, and so bland that I'm shocked that a pop star of her calbier would release it unless they were so distanced and so dissatisfied with their career that they just didn't care anymore. So that's where I am with Miss Janet. I saw her three times on the All For You tour, I bought EVERYTHING with her name on it for years, and I'm to the point where I don't even care to click on links with her name in them now. It's bizarre. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

She didn't name or write any of the songs on Discipline. So, blame her for liking it, not writing it Under certain circumstances, urgent circumstances, desperate circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer.

everyone was saying her work with jimmy and terry was getting redundant, so even though she changed producers completely, people still have a problem with it. I don't think anything is wrong with the music on Discipline and it would have fit in perfectly with mainstream musically if it were promoted right
Although Rock Witchu is one of my favourites on the album and I love the video, I didn't want that to be the second single either. I think 2nite or Luv would have made a good second single. Can't Be Good, Greatest Ex and So Much Betta would have also made good releases.
