This list is crap. No Annie Lennox anywhere? There goes the credibility of that list.

It's not bad. There are several women on there whose work I appreciate and I know there are many that you do too.

Fleetwood, Blondie, PJ, Pretenders, Madonna, MJB, Hole, Sinead, Liz, Heart, Breeders, Janet, TC, SNP, LH, GoGo's, Ronettes, Cyndi, Bjork, Joan Jett, kd lang.

20 out of 50 ain't bad at all.

I did not say she was not good cause she is not that bad I am just suprised she is that high...for a 2000 album and again Annie is not even on there...let alone the Eurythmics.

True, true. "To Bring You My Love" and "Rid of Me" are classic though! Lucinda Williams but no Annie Lennox? nuts

She already had spot #16 David. But I agree, it should be higher than that album. She's moved far beyond 'Like A Prayer'.

No artist has more than one album. I think they simply choose 50 women to include and select they album they think is best by each.

I still think "Like a Prayer" is top-notch and perhaps her best. "Ray of Light" is right up there though. If I were to attempt to objectively create such a list, I believe that Madonna would warrant at least 3 albums in there.

I remember that according to them (and not only) Liz Phair was supposed to become the 90's female superstar, then, her career went to toilet

I think this list is pretty good. I was glad to see Blue as #2 that is one of my faves albums of all time. Also glad to see Patsy Cline, The Pretenders (I am in love with Chrissie's voice!), and Carol King.

I agree, Annie Lennox should definately be on there (top 10 imo)...she is one of the best chick-singers out there. Much soul in her voice. I am listening to "I Saved The World Today" right now...and the drama and expression in her voice is just astounding.

As for Madonna...I am not real into dance music (except for Paisley Park dance music smile) so Ray of Light and her latest stuff has never done much for me...I liked the video for the title song with her in that t-shirt though. My girlfirend is a Madonna freak so I hear her tunes just as much as she hears my Prince music. But the album I truly think is her best is definitely "Like A Prayer". It's the only one that even comes close to the artistry of Prince's music imo. Ray of Light songs all sound the same to me.

OK, what kind of crap list was that? Where is Joan Armatrading on that list? They could've at least added one of her albums: either her debut, "Whatever's For Us" or "The Key."
