"Old Friend" is one of the beautiful songs ever recorded.There's a real sadness to it.
Yes,I've tried to live my life without you Knowing I had lost my closest friend Though I fell in love from time to time Knowing I would never find the kind of love I had when you were mine Everything about this song---the lyrics,the arrangement,the production,the vocals---is just PERFECT! Truly one of the most underrated R&B singles of the 80s.After Phyllis' death,it's sometimes hard for me to listen to it  It's really emotional! | |
