ANYBODY HATE THIS SONG AS MUCH AS ME?//ROCK THE BOAT-Hue Corporation

lol

I hear it everymorning
on this radio talk show

GOD I hate to hear it
it's like it forces you
to wake up...
those damn strings
irritate me to no end

I've NEVER liked this song
my mama even said she didn't
like it when it was out
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

Back in 2001 when Aaliyah's album was released, I dreaded she actually covered the original upon viewing her tracklisting. lol

it's rare that I dislike a song THIS MUCH
there's a good handful of songs
that I feel the exact same sentiment for

but GOOD GAWD I could stand
nails across a chalkboard
better than this song mad

sidenote: I do kinda like that lil
groovy dance step they was doin during the chorus lol
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

I knew better lol

if ol Liyah was gonna
remake anything it would
more than likely be
an Isley Bros. tune

sidenote about Aaliyah:
why is there so much hate for her
on youtube? there are some cruel people out there
they make these weird gif files (some of them
are actually funny like some MJB ones LOL)
but they have ones disrespecting Aaliyah
and the poor girl is deceased...
how can anybody who has a heart create
such fuckery... too much spare time

one day just out of curiousity
I clicked on one of those videos
it was Aaliyah versus somebody
but it was horrible
I actually wanted to cry
I was so hurt by that sad
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

Speaking of which, dare I say, she made a fabulous remake?

Even though the HEART and soul of the song can't be anywhere to be found(Ernie's guitar solo) I love her version SO dearly, in fact I'd credit her for hipping me to the Isley Bros to begin with.

Don't even get me started on that Deadliyah character. I've known of it for years, and it's nothing more than a rabid MJB fan who goes out of it's way to trash anyone who doesn't hold Mary in the same regards as God.

You should see the shrine rejects who practically *live* in the "Mary Discussions" over in the Maryluvs board.

Its a creepy sight to see,,,,but again, nobody is worse than Mariah's "lambs" disbelief

The former is MUCH better than the original IMO nod

Even though her vocal range was so limited, she sang the tune with so much conviction and depth,,,,the fact that she was 15 @ the time wasn't even into consideration.

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing them for myself, *shudders*.

I'd say the Killer B's (Beyonce fans) are well on their way to upsurging the lambs in terms of annoyance. lol

I can tolerate annoyance lol

I can't take faithful followers though,,,,they scare me shitless disbelief I damn near thought that Mariah was a female prophet.

I love her though,,,but the idea of going to her fans gathering is outta the ?uestion(even though some of them are cool, to be fair).

If you thought Mariah was a prophet, imagine having to endure conversations on end where Beyonce is referred to as BEYSUS! lol

spit

Those queens kill me slow evillol I'm used to them over @ the Mary board though.

I don't know how people reach THAT state of fanatism shrug Sure I've had my "obsessed" spills when it came to Prince and Chaka Khan, but even in my foggiest minded days I can tell both of them are fuck-ups personality wise.

Is it a desparate craving for a "hero" figure? I don't understand.

It's as if they live vicariously through them. The most rabid of fans - from my observation - don't have much they themselves could boast about in terms of personal/professional accolades, so they hammer everyone else unmercifully about what their favorite has accomplished.

The slightest bit of disagreement (which they always label as HATE), and they swarm you with the most outlandish of retorts as if you caused physical harm to them or their mothers. lol
