What record or CD did you get rid of and now regret?

Inspired by thread "rarest thing in your collection"

I had Rick James' CD The Flag and sold it at a used shop - probably got less than a dollar for it. I know it's not that great of an album, but I regret it because it's pretty hard to find now. Same with Wonderful.

Prince's Around the World in a Day CD in the wallet cardborad sleeve. I still have the disk and the slipcover, but I just threw the long box away! i got rid of all my longboxes - who knew they would be valuable?!

Jesse Johnson's Revue CD - same deal as Rick James CDs above above.

Duh-oh!!!!!

Tons, at least a hundred. Around 2000, I sold a bunch of music to pay bills. I got most of them back but some I can't find anymore. sad

Maxwell's "Embrya". I hated it when it came out and I gave it away. Now I wish I had it back.

new edition-home again

I once got rid of erotica and bedtime stories, but I got my senses back and got them again, and now I think erotica is one of her best albums ever.

In 1999 I got rid of Madonna's Ray of Light. In 2000 I got rid of Janet's Velvet Rope and Whitney's My Love is Your Love. In 2002 I was given free copies of Madonna's Music and GHSF2, and was actually pleased to get them, but a year later I found they were just gathering dust. I tried listening to them again and I realised they were just really bland, so I sold them to a used shop too. I don't regret any of those. But I do regret selling some Madonna 12 inches in the mid '90s. The singles were all from the '80s and had some good remixes as well as sentimental value. I needed cash at the time, but now I wish I still had them.

even though I liked girl groups in the 90's and still like the singles, I sold my albums from Total, Allure, Changing Faces, SWV etc. and though I love Timbaland's production, I sold Ginuwine-The Bachelor cause it was collecting dust.

Man, I still have all my Milli Vanilli material. It was the music I loved, I never cared about who they had out front dancing. We even heard about the scam months before it broke worldwide. The only thing that bothered me though, was that I thought they should have given the Grammy to the actual artists that sang on the record. But I suppose they didn't fit the profile. disbelief In my opinion, after the scandal, they should have started touring with the REAL singers out front, and kept Rob & Fab as background dancers.

Paul Hardcastle: 19. Oh no wait, I still have it. And Ghostbusters.

All my Prince stuff from when I was a fan the first time around. VHS, vinyl, cassettes, posters, stuff like that.

My Queen vinyl and stuff like that.

Hell, I even remember recording over proper tapes so I could listen to stuff on my Walkman (I was skint as a teenager). MJ's Thriller? Taped over with ACDC probably. Although that's no bad thing.

Not a record or CD, but I sold "Weeds" back in the day, a 1987 movie on VHS starring Nick Nolte, Ernie Hudson, William Forsythe, Joe Mantegna, and a bunch of other actors that went on to be more famous. That movie was really good and is a very rare find today, and was never released on DVD. I think I only got like about a dollar for it too, which makes it even more painful.

Actually, just checked Amazon.com, and I see I can get it used for .99 cents... SOLD! And minus the shipping charge, I can get it back for what I sold it for! Thank Al Gore for the Internet!

All my 80's Prince picture discs. I miss my 'boy and the balloon' 'Paisley Park' one most. I sold them at a second hand record place, at a knockdown price. never forgave myself, but i was fiscally challenged back then. confused

Sometimes money's tight and one has to sell their shit to pay the bills. It's better than getting money from a pawn shop but sometimes you have to give-up something to realize how much it means to you.

Unless you're from money and then you have no idea what I'm talking about... lol

...And Then There Was Bass: Dis Bass Game Real [compilation] (1997)

It had Dana Harris' "As We Lay" on it and this jam by Luke called "Let's Ride." And that was bumpin. Most urban music heads may remember this for the song "That's Just My Baby's Daddy." I think I sold it at the time because I was a kid and I wanted money for something. I ended up ripping the album to a Maxell cassette, but I regret it now that we're in the digital age and I don't play tapes anymore.
