Louis Jordan I'm really liking Louis Jordan. I know of him for some time, but never really listened to him. I've discovered him, via youtube, and love it all. He's made a ton of famous tunes I didn't even know were by him.
Any good comps to get started on, by him? PRINCE: Always and Forever

Any good comps to get started on, by him? They didn't call him the "King Of Jukebox" outta the blue But its the same sad story, he made TOWERS of money only to end up broke, poor and in dept,,,,just like the rest of BEST of them. The only consolation is his body of work and the birth of his babygirl, Ms.Rhythm & Blues.

The father of Rock and Roll with his jump blues, I love his work. Some people never really get with this amazing artist because of bad sound recordings. I think that's denying yourself something amazing.
Check out everything you can on this man, he did movies, concerts, records and everything in between. There's some great footage in Ken Burns' Jazz documentary.
