rolleyes If I had a family member come out the house looking like this they wouldn't have to worry about anybody else talking about 'em cuz I'd be first in line. It's not just the weight it's the undignified way she dresses which emphasizes the weight. Hey, she's entirely within her rights to look a hot mess, but I'm within MY rights to sit back and laugh at her wacky ass hah!

If that person comes out looking like that and dressed the way Aretha does, don't expect ANYBODY to not talk. lol

I know, I know, she's the Queen of Soul but she set herself for R.I.D.I.C.U.L.E.

nod if it were someone close, I would tell them, I have done it, just politely,'uhm no offense, but that just doesn't look right, no offense, you should chew some gum' cause I don't want to sit, say nothing and let the person embarass themselves.... I'd want somebody around me to tell me if I didn't look right

If you go back and watch that show Aretha was (Pardon the expression) Tagging them ****. Every time one of them would try to do a run Aretha did a run BACK.

Shania Twain tried to sneak Aretha at the end of a song with a run and Auntie Ree tagged that h..... um, what I mean to say is Aretha responded with a well placed melisma of her own.

For those who don't believe me go watch the Divas VH-1 show again.

nod I remember watching that show thinking that Ree-ree was gonna cut one of them ho's for stealin' her spotlight. lol Did you see the Making of Divas show on VH-1 years ago? The producers spilled all the tea about Ree's diva-ish behavior leading up to the show and how on the day of the show she wasn't speaking to them so they had no idea if she was actually coming. lol

the fact that mofos can spend more time talking about this woman's weight rather than the fact that she can still outsing any one of these dime a dozen broads that yall listen to is more disturbing to me than her weight.

Yes, I am concerned for her health. However, the woman's a living legend. There's just too much outright disrespect for Aretha. The fact that she wears the shit without concern for tabloidish comments that come from so-called music-lovers speaks volumes to me. The fact that someone just called her fill-in performance for Pavarotti, "ghetto" and nobody is getting corrected??!!??!!

disbelief

This place has truly gone to shit.

lol She’s a good sport. I bet she could kill that song if she wanted to. The lyrics aren’t much but I always thought it had a nice melody.

I know everybodys trippin about this because we make much about her weight, but for me, it just boils down to this being my friends mom, and I dont care HOW old am, I DO NOT want to hear my friends mom, or ANY mom over 60 something singing some damn Touch My Body. I had to check MY OWN mother a couple years ago because we were in the car going shopping, and Shake It Off came on and she knew ALL the words. Thats her young, hip phrase she will want to use for the next 5 years, too disbelief
