I accept it, he needs help though. I'm gonna be praying for his recovery. Obviously he's going through a lot.

Crack cocaine? Are they serious? I can see him smoking weed, but not crack.
I recently saw him on his U.S. tour and his voice was great and he was acting normal. He wasn't acting crazy like Whitney or Amy Winehouse. I find it hard to believe he's a crack addict!

I think the term Media Whore fits poor little Georgie. Whenever he is about to release something he is in 'trouble' again. Look at the pattern.

Pity is deserved, perhaps not the pity he expects. He is the elderly male version of Britney Spears. That aint a compliment to either of them.

At least they wont breed.

It worked for him before. Two or three times now. He can't muster up interest in traditional terms as he is the wrong age to be media relevant. So he crash bangs himself back in there.

I think if it had been CRACK, he'd be held in jail. If it was ecstasy and weed, then that was nothing. This ain't Pete Doherty we're talking about.

George Michael Apologizes For Latest Drugs Bust
British Pop Star Promises 'I'll Sort Myself Out'
September 21, 2008

British pop star George Michael apologized to fans on Sunday and promised to "sort himself out" after his arrest and caution by police for possession of drugs.

Michael, 45, was arrested in a public toilet in the north London suburb of Hampstead on Friday afternoon after he was found in possession of crack cocaine and cannabis, according to the Sunday People newspaper.

The Metropolitan Police has confirmed the arrest of a 45-year-old man in north London and his caution for possession of class A and class C drugs.

"I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I'll sort myself out," said Michael in a statement issued through his publicist. "And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them."

The multi-millionaire singer has had several brushes with the law over his recreational drug use.

In 2006 he was found slumped over the wheel of his car in London and later admitted driving while unfit due to drugs. He was banned from driving for two years and sentenced to 100 hours of community service.

In an interview on BBC radio last year, Michael discussed his drug problems, saying he was aware that he smoked too much marijuana and was trying to reduce his consumption.

In a strange way I've spent the last 15 to 20 years trying to derail my own career, but it never seems to suffer," he said.

"I suffer like crazy. I've suffered bereavements and public humiliations, but my career always seems to right itself like a plastic duck in the bath."

Michael has sold nearly 100 million records, winning a global fan base with hits such as "Careless Whisper" and "Faith." He is estimated to be worth as much as $200 million.

Earlier this year he signed up for a no-holds-barred autobiography which he intends to write entirely by himself.

Michael ended a nearly two-year world tour in August this year with two performances in London's Earls Court. He has hinted that he may not tour again.

You know how it is with so many rich rock stars; they going be doing drugs forever probably but its the public restroom haunting that GM can't seem to shake that is probably going to be embarassing him for a long time to come.

I knew a guy once that was into this glory hole thing and I had to question him about how the hell he could do that. His answer was pretty short, something about the risk of getting caught and the not knowing who or what was on the other side of the stall divider enhanced the physical sensations.

And he said, "Don't knock it if you havent' tried it." I guess he had a point but not enough of one to make me try it.

Here's a little longer version of that same article that has a few extra comments. This one from yahoo Music News:

LONDON (Reuters) - British pop star George Michael apologized to fans on Sunday and promised to "sort himself out" after his arrest and caution by police for possession of drugs.

Michael ended a nearly two-year world tour in August this year with two performances in London's Earls Court. He has hinted that he may not tour again.

The former lead singer with 1980s band Wham! ended years of speculation about his sexuality by announcing he was gay after he was arrested in 1998 for engaging in a "lewd act" in a Los Angeles public toilet.

The thing that pisses me off is that peeps on this forum were getting pissed with Elton John for telling George that he was wasting away, look at where he is now? Elton is someone that did more drugs than Elvis, had more sex than prince, and lived through it, George should listen and go to a real "rehab" not a revolving door rehab, because he will end up like Robert Downey did, in jail for a year or two, and though it cleaned Robert up, i dont think it will do the same for George

Why doesn't George just throw sexy parties and keep all of his activities in-house so to speak?

Him doing his thing in public and getting caught either seems like a cry for help or a self-destruct thing.

I know the man has had a hard day and he wants some fast love but he's older and if you were there you'd know.

Because he lives with his partner, Kenny. He can't bring the other dudes home! I don't know why he doesn't just break up with Kenny so he can be free to have fun at home!
