Does she do anything original, or just rip off other artists such as the Clash (Straight to hell) or the Modern Lovers (Roadrunner, MIA's "Bamboo Banga)?

Try as I might, her recordings don't stick to me even after all this time. She actually irritates the hell out of me

For those who "get" M.I.A., can you please explain what is not registering with me? She's praised to high hell amongst indies, but I don't understand the appeal. HELP.
