It's really a shame that Alanis' Flavours of Entanglement has become the forgotten gem of this year.

My first diva delivered her best album since SFIJ...and it flopped!

FUCK THE CHARTS! I love u alanis!

Versions of violence makes Trent Reznor seem like a pussy!

Tapes is Antony Hegarty seem like a man...

Not as we is the best song to slit ones wriths too...

I have a soft spot for Alanis but I must admit that when I saw her at a festival this summer I wasn't too impressed! Haven't heard the album...

Yeah I really liked this album when it first came out. It was refreshing to hear Alanis in a different soundscape. It's a shame that her and other popular 90s era artists aren't appreciated nowadays. Due to being a late Gen-x/early Gen-y'er, the 90s will always hold a special place in my heart. Love ya Alanis. biggrin

What exactly happened to this album?

It sold about 200k in the US, correct?

I remember she got a big boost on the charts a few months back from singing "Not As We" on The Tonight Show.

"Giggling For No Reason" is my favorite cut.

I love Alanis. Always will.

My favorite album of 2008 by a country mile, at least so far.

This album is an Alanis classic. It's one of her best albums easily, there isn't a bad song on it.

I think "In Praise Of The Vulnerable Man" is my favorite, and then "Giggling Again For No Reason". I've been playing "Straitjacket" and "Tapes" a lot as well though.

Even all the bonus cuts kick ass!! Madness, Bring On The Tequila and Orchid are all awesome!!

Same here. When Aksel and I saw her at a festival, all the guys in the audience zoned out and the girls became frantic singalong animals. Well, during the older material anyways. The new material fell flat in it's ass, so I did not rush out to go and have a listen, to be honest.
