New Britney single "Womanizer" coming in 5 days! Album "Circus" December 2nd!

First Single "Womanizer" Is Slated To Hit Radio On September 22nd

Jive/Zomba recording artist Britney Spears announces her sixth studio album, Circus, set for release December 2nd. The first single from the album is titled "Womanizer" and was produced by the up-and-coming Atlanta production team The Outsyders. The album release date coincides with Spears' birthday.

On the heels of an MTV VMA awards sweep, where Britney walked away with three Moonmen awards for "Video of the Year," "Best Female" and "Best Pop Video" for "Piece of Me," Jive Records is preparing her latest album, Circus, a follow-up to her critically well received album, Blackout. For her latest effort, Britney has enlisted a stellar group of established producers/writers that include Dr. Luke (who wrote and produced the album's title track, "Circus"), Danja, Max Martin, Bloodshy & Avant and Guy Sigsworth (Madonna, Alanis Morissette, Bjork).

Britney Spears is one of the top-selling artists of the last decade, and to date, she has sold in excess of 62 million albums worldwide that include Baby One More Time (1999), Oops!...I Did It Again (2000), Britney (2001), In The Zone (2003), and Blackout (2007), eight #1 worldwide singles and four consecutive #1 albums.

The Zomba Label Group consists of record labels Jive, LaFace, Volcano, Verity, GospoCentric and Fo Yo Soul. These labels represent a varied group of artists including Justin Timberlake, R. Kelly, Usher, Tool, Ciara, Chris Brown, Pink, Britney Spears, OutKast, Kirk Franklin, Three Days Grace, 311, Nick Lachey, T-Pain, Byron Cage, Bullet For My Valentine, Buddy Guy, Living Things, Anthony Hamilton, Donnie McClurkin, John P. Kee, Fred Hammond, Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Kelly Price, J. Moss and Backstreet Boys.

woot!

December 2nd is Spears' 27th birthday.

It's believed the song playing in the background of this video, filmed in August 08, may be Womanizer :

I'm glad they're moving on from Blackout ASAP, that era needs to die.

Britney also told OK! magazine she's been writing every day for this album, so hopefully a lot of her self penned songs make it.

Keri Hilson said she's going for a more "real, organic" sound this time around.

I can't wait!

I'll try to have an open mind, but if hat song is Womanizer it sounds pretty ordinary and that dance routine is so soulless. Do these moves make any sense? I mean, what's the point in just showing withe very second another hot dance move? It's totally unnatural.

Circus sonds like a cool album title though!

rolleyes

You're judging it solely on a 1:19 clip of a relaxed rehearsal, possibly the song is still a demo.

1:19 is pretty long for a song. If I've heard 1:19 of "Yesterday", "Kiss", "Billie Jean", "Holiday", "Sir Puke" alone I could say they're good songs. But this sounds very average. Or do you find what we hear has much charakter??

I think it's almost impossible to judge, it's as low quality as you can get! You can hardly make out any lyrics and once again, it could've been a demo at that stage.

PLUS, it may not even be "Womanizer", no one knows which song this is...

Britney Spears' New Album, Circus, Slated For December 2 Release, New single 'Womanizer' to hit radio September 22.
By Jennifer Vineyard
Link

Britney's not wasting any time.

On the heels of her three wins at the 2008 VMAs, the singer's label announced Monday (September 15) that she'll be releasing her next album on December 2, her 27th birthday.

According to Jive Records, the album will be called Circus, an apt title considering the events of her life since the release of Blackout.

The first single, "Womanizer," produced by the Outsyders, is slated to hit the radio on September 22.

Britney-watchers, and even some of her collaborators, had predicted the album wouldn't come out until early next year.

A December release date leaves a tight window for the singer to complete her sixth studio album. But Spears has been recording since earlier this summer, and she has more sessions coming up, according to songwriter and producer Keri Hilson.

She's got plenty of help too. In addition to known collaborators Hilson, the Outsyders, Sean Garrett, Rodney Jerkins, Lil Jon and Nate "Danjahandz" Hills, Spears is also working with with Dr. Luke (who wrote and produced the album's title track), Guy Sigsworth, Bloodshy & Avant (who produced past hits "Piece of Me" and "Toxic") and Max Martin (who wrote "... Baby One More Time" and "Oops! ... I Did It Again").

There's no word yet on what kind of promotion Spears will be able to do for Circus.

For Blackout, she shot a few videos, did one interview (sort of) on Ryan Seacrest's show and then became a daily headline fixture for anything but her music.

I truly loved the Blackout album. It's her best and one of the best pop albums of this decade. Dance pop at its best.

Can't wait for Circus.

Ick. I'm not AT ALL excited about this. Can anyone feel what I'm trying to say? Can't her, Beyonce and Timberlake all go away for 3 years all at once?

Seriously....

That being said "Gimme More" is Britney's best ever lead single, and I doubt
anything, let alone something with a cheesy title like "Womanizer" could top
it.

As irritating as Britney and the rest of the brat pack, (Justin, Britney,
and Beyonce) are, I'm glad Britney (seems) to have calmed down and gotten
her life (sorta?) in order.

idk how i feel about this, kinda interested to hear it and yet i really hope its not on some blackout bullshit watsoever.
i feel like i'm one of the few ppl that actually didnt care for the released version of blackout. in the zone was WAYY better.
also i hope that she has atleast 1 SANGIN song on here cuz seriously britney has moments where she sings her ass off and its not in that little high picted whisper bs.
i had an alt copy of blackout w/ these 2 songs on it : love the hurt away and baby boy and she really SINGS on those two songs, i played them 4 a friend and she didnt even think it was britney, she thought it kinda sounded like early jessica simpson, and these two songs didnt make the final cut which sucks
so hopefully britney finally starts showing some of her true talent
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

With "In the Zone" and "Blackout" Britney has done 2 of the best POP/DANCE records of this decade. Thank god she was able to get this album on the fall release schedule because nothing is happening in this genre right now, scary to say, but if you remember a few years back when Bono pronounced "u2 are back to save rock" i think its time for Britney to save POP at least for america.

What's with the uncertainty? What makes you think her life isn't back in order?

Didn't you see her at the VMAs the other day? Who would've thought she'd look THAT good this time last year?

She sees her boys at least 5 times a week now and things are reportedly great between her and Kevin. Her dad no longer lives with her and she made amends with her mother.

I think it's safe to say, everything's okay now. I'm pretty sure the conservatorship will finish at the end of the year.

It's too soon to tell..IMO. I mean, it looks great. But, Britney always
looked good on the outside, and then one day, it all just started going
to hell. I hope, for her sake, and more her kids' sake she stays in
good health, and doesn't get "shady" again, and starting forgetting
underwear and hanging with Paris. (She is hot but damn she is trashy.)

As for the album, I was never much of a Britney music lover - but
some of the fold out pictures in the CD cases were good over the
years. wink

Hmm, I wouldn't say it all went to hell in one day. Pretty much around the end of 2002 she started losing it due to stress from being overworked.

although her voice is terrible (since her first album), she only had a few good songs on oops, made a good album with in the zone, and had only several good songs on blackout that were well done.

I hope there is at least some writing from her this time. I mean, she has to have something to say.

It's impossible to get more plastic than "Blackout". It was fun, but hopefully there is some stronger songwriting this time out. I was surprised Keri wrote "Gimme More". Her own solo hit actually shows she has some real ability (unless she didn't write that one).
