I know he messed up his image in the beginning, however this album is really really good and has great musicianship. Im suprised at how much you guys dog him, he has nothing but real instrumentation on his album and clever songwriting

you have it?

Yes, my partner bought it. I was like 'what?' at first ..now I heard the whole thing...I was very impressed at how many styles of music he has on this cd, and Im glad its selling because it is really good.

yes, i have heard that there was a beef between the band and neil young? apparently neil young had a problem with the song as he saw it as racist. perhaps i can look this up and post....

The story goes more or less like this:

Neil Young released Southern Man, which was a criticism of the racism he saw being enacted in the southern US. The members of Lynyrd Skynyrd took offense to what they saw as a generalization of all white, southern men -by a Canadian, no less -and wrote Sweet Home Alabama in retaliation. Some listeners have perceived their song as having pro-racist connotations, some do not.

I've been playing and singing that song for years, and I can't find a single bit of it that would strike me as being even remotely racist. It's a Southern pride song but that doesn't make it racist. This is the first I've heard of any racism in the song. O_o

Not a fan of Kid Rock, but I can't see how he's any worse than the pedophiles, thugs and lip-syncers that so many people seem to love and claim to have talent.

I guess he is a good entertainer but i would not consider him a real artist because he just makes music to generate profit

its not from the heart its the record label pushing him to make a hit
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I'm not sure where it's supposed to be, but I've heard it has something to do with that reference to the governor.

Perhaps another Orger could help out with this?

Well, I've always thought he presented some of the worst things ever presented in mainstream music.

But then again, I saw that recent clip of the Motown at what-the-fcuk-ever-award -show and compared to Justin Timberlake and Beyonce, who also sang a duet during the medley, he sounded a lot better. In fact, if you closed your eyes and forgot all about it being Kid Rock, it was one of the very few white voices that did Motown material justice.

So I guess he has talent after all.
