Actually listening to this- I am really glad he didn't do too much of that T-pain electronic shit on this album, which i was kinda expecting.

His singing has improved a lot, and yeah it's R&B, but it's better than a lot of the R&B out there right now.

Best song aside from closer- "Part Of The List".

I don't even think Miss Independent and Nobody are great songs in comparison with other great songs on the album like "So You Can Cry" and "Back To What You Know."

Maybe I just like the stuff that flies under the radar- plus I like the stuff with real instruments on it. nod

This is gonna sound super-nerdy but why does he call himself "Ne-yo"?

Anyone know?

The only reason I ask is that with that tag, I had assumed he was a rapper who couldn't sing.

I have no idea. But I freaking hate those "rapper" names. T-Pain, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Lil Bow Wow, lil gangsta- whatever. disbelief

when I first heard his name I thought he was a dumb rapper too, but then I heard so sick and realized he was one of the better r&b artists today with talent.

because of one the producers he worked with nicknamed him "Neo" as in Neo from the Matrix because of the way he could quickly write songs hence "Ne-Yo". Joe's new album "Joe Thomas - New Man" is a much better album, purchase this one instead.
