got the 45 for Xmas one year
from one of my fav cousins...

I'll never forget that
I got a gang of 45s that year
MJ's "Bad" and Roger's "IWBYM"
are the only ones I vividly
remember going crazy over
"be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."

I wrote a thread about this song on here a few years ago. If I remember correctly, just a small few even posted saying that they liked it. It's good to see a little more responded this time. Maybe I should get who ever wrote this thread to front for me and then I could ghostwrite hiding behind them. cool

I'll say a little bit here what I said on the thread I wrote about this song. This song's pre-chorus is better than MOST people's hooks. The vocal melody is sweet as fuck and then it has those beautiful tinkling keyboards underneath on the chorus. Bangin'.

Other than Prince and his associates in the late 1980s, everyone else had lost their damn mind when making slow songs and was doing the adult contemporary route. "I Want To Be Your Man" by Roger was one of the very few good slow songs of the late 1980s.

There were probably some other good threads on the board during the time you made your thread and it may have gotten overlooked. However, look at all these damn Michael Jackson threads and threads on current artists on the board today. "I Want To Be Your Man" isn't one of my favorite Roger songs but the thread stands out on the board today in the middle of all these bullshit threads. lol

Did you like "As We Lay" by Shirley Murdock? I loved the song until it got played to death. I still can't believe that a Larry Troutman wrote that song.
