Adore this song. Brings back good memories. Reminds me of a girfriend of mine when I was in high school. She really liked this song as well. For that Christmas, I bought her this album.

I never really got into this song. Although it was a big hit for them in the US it never really took off back home in the UK. I preferred their first single "General Public" and the B-Side, Limited Balance was even better.

But I'm a big admirer of Dave Wakeling. The (English) Beat are one of my all-time fave bands and his solo album is great too. Pity he doesn't play many shows in the UK anymore as he moved to the US many years ago.

If any US orgers have the chance, go see him & count yourselves lucky. I'd love the chance to see him play live.

This is one of my all time favorite songs from childhood. My family had it on a Polytel hits compilation put out in Canada called Chartbusters!

Wish I had the cassette here so I could scan the label.. it had "Tenderness" by General Public plus..
