Which acts were around but you never really discovered them until years later?

Mine would be.....

Graham Central Station: I was listening to Larry Graham during his solo years with songs like "One In A Million", "Just Be My Lady", When We Get Married", "I'm So Glad It's Summer Again", and "Sooner Or Later". I had seen in the "Right On" magazines during those years that he had previously been in Graham Central Station but never had heard any of their music except for "The Jam" (which I didn't know who the artist was when I was hearing it). I didn't buy any of their albums and check them out until the late 1990s when Prince was raving about them.

Sylvester: I remember hearing "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" during the disco era but never knew who the artist was. I also remember reading about him in the "Right On" magazines back in the day but it never sparked my interest enough to check any of his stuff out because the radio wasn't playing any of his music. I didn't check him out until the 1990s when I was going to gay clubs and heard his music. Then, I went and bought some of his albums.

Anyway, which ones were you late getting into?

ALL of my artists!! Because I was born in the late 1980s and most of my fave had their peak in tis decade or even earlier. Throughout the whole 90s I liked their stuff but it took one decade to become a fan.

especially the George Michael experience was great. I listened all my life on the radio to his hits but as a child I didn't know who GM is?!

So I was very happy to discover HE was the man who wrote I'm Your Man, The Edge of Heaven, Too Funky, Fastlove...
