These bastards ANTAGONIZE stars to try to get fucked up pictures because that's what the idiots that buy their mags wanna see so they can sit on their fat asses and "feel a little better about themselves" by seeing a celeb "brought down a peg" in a picture. After every day of that shit, eventually, a person is bound to snap. [Edited 9/11/08 9:53am] It is a part of the game isn't it? agreed. and I just don't get all the anger with someone taking you picture unless they use your image in an unflattering or profiteering way. Then sue them for THAT. But for someone to take a picture of you... if you don't want your pic taken, then don't go out. Some celebs bring more attention to themselves by acting a fool. Just ignore the paparazzi, keep stepping, and they will move on to someone else. Slap them and damage their equipment, you just stuck a neon sign over your head, 10x the photogs will be hounding you. a. never actually seen them follow a celeb around live and up close b. are paparazzi themselves or aspiring to be or c. simply don't like Kanye and are glad to see him get a little grief in his life (as if losing his mom not too long ago wasn't enough) Either way, you're outta your minds if you think its as simple and innocent as them just walking around taking pictures. There's almost always antagonization involved. That "they are celebs and its part of the job" shit is something the press made up and repeats it so that the idiotic general public will regurgitate it and absolve them of any wrongdoings when they stalk these people. His job is to produce and perform music. That's it. Posing for pictures is a courtesy, not a requirement. They don't want the posed for pics anyway, they want the unflattering ones. [Edited 9/11/08 12:41pm] BK are you saying the photogs purposefully says bad things to get the celebs goat? Well, that is foul.... but sometimes you got to be smarter than your adversary. If he didn't his arrival at the airport to be seen on the tv, internet etc... he failed miserably. maybe he should try a different tactic next time "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

Copycat said: September 11, 2008 Link Hip-hop star Kanye West was arrested on charges of felony vandalism after an altercation with a photographer Thursday morning at Los Angeles International Airport, airport spokeswoman Nancy Castles confirmed to FOX News. West and his bodyguard, who was also arrested by airport police on charges of felony vandalism and battery shortly before 8 a.m., had an altercation with the paparazzi involving a $10,000 camera, the spokeswoman said. The incident took place in Terminal 4, outside of passenger security screening. West and his bodyguard were in custody with airport police and expected to be transported to the LAPD's Pacific Division to be booked. Airport spokesman Marshall Lowe said police were continuing to interview witnesses. An employee at the office of West's representative at the William Morris Agency had no comment. A still photographer was trying to take pictures of West at the American Airlines terminal when West allegedly confronted the man and smashed his camera to the ground. A TMZ photographer then began videotaping the scene when West's assistant grabbed the man's camera. A struggle ensued and the assistant threw the video camera to the ground, breaking it, TMZ says. When West realized the photographer had videotaped the incident, he yelled, "Gimme that f---ing tape!" [Edited 9/11/08 15:18pm] Dayum... what if you were in line with your kids and this maniac suddenly attack someone within your presence... on 9/11! ya got to know people are maybe feeling jittery on this day, and then someone acted out like that?? I would have tried to sue his silly azz, for mental anguish, scaring the piss out of me on the anniversay of 9/11. I am sure I would not win, but daymmit, he would think twice before acting like an idiot in a PUBLIC place... "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

exactly Madonna goes jogging thru New York streets. she doesn't cause a traffic jam etc. Michael Jackson goes to the Pizza Hut, there are mobs of crowds, and helicopters... ironic which of those 2 say they want to avoid the photogs. Madonna likes that kind of attention Michael just recently is starting to come out more. I read a story recently about Michael going to Taco Bell and ordering some food at like 9pm "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And the paparazzi need to stop crying when their equipment gets jacked. I say THAT is "part of the game". that is true too. It is part of following a celeb for that dream shot. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

Harassment does not "come with the job". That's media rhetoric created to soft-sell the public on excusing their behavior. If you say something enough, people believe it without question and eventually accept it as truth. The paparazzi is NOT innocently just following and snapping pictures all of the time. They break the law consistently. No individual could get away with the harassment and stalking that these guys dish out.
People are stupid for the most part and believe whatever the idiot box tells them. Part of the acceptance of it is the public's jealousy and resentment of celebrities. Over the past few years, the general public has developed a media-induced overdeveloped sense of entitlement. When you buy an artist's CD, all your $15 gets you is the music. Everything else is a bonus. Prince never had to endure this because the paparazzi was never this bad at the height of his popularity. He is less relevant now, like Madonna. Its the younger stars born into the reality television generation that have it far worse.
